Steam opens shop, becoming popular over time. The Nokia N-Gage is released to not much fanfare and lots of derision, particularly in regards to its design choices. Sony releases the EyeToy accessory for the PlayStation 2, becoming a bestseller for the system.
Disney opens its first ever MMORPG to the public, Toontown Online, instantly becoming a cult classic.
Also, the production of Famicom and the Super Famicom consoles finally ended in Japan, along with Famicom Disk System rewriting services directly from Nintendo via mail.
