Nokia's half-thought-out attempt at entering the handheld gaming market by shoehorning it into their cellphone hardware. It was great at SIDETALKIN' and looking a bit like a certain internet shock image if you squinted a bit, but not so much at being comfortable to use, having a large library, or having a cartridge slot that was accessible without taking out the battery.
Not even a hardware refresh, the N-Gage QD (which had a greatly-improved design and cost less than the original model), could reverse Nokia's fortunes, and it ultimately sold about a third of what they were hoping. It was discontinued in western markets in November 2005, and its final game came out a year later.
