Poldek Driver

Poldek Driver is a Polish budget racing game, and the equally infamous spiritual successor to Maluch Racer. It reuses its engine and some assets, however it replaced all the cars, added new tracks and first person view.

Unused tracks#

In the game's files, the track Miasteczko from Maluch Racer can be found, but is not accessible in-game.

Unused textures#

common.mar#

arrow.tga#

Unused texture for the arrow that points to the next checkpoint. The arrow model in the game uses a solid green color.

auto.tga and manual.tga#

Leftover indicators for transmission system from Maluch Sim, the game the lead programmer Mateusz Ryczko was working on prior to being hired by PLAY. Maluch Racer (and by extension Poldek Driver) are based on Maluch Sim.

Specifically: Show comparison of car interiors

There is a 1.1 patch dated for January 2004, which adds three new tracks and edits interior textures of some cars to make them less sharp.

Leftover developer tool#

In the archive for one of the AI controlled cars, black03.mar, two versions of a program for editing car configuration files can be found.

The newer version is almost the same as the old one, except it adds a visual representation of the car and a file explorer dialog instead of requiring a full path.
