Drakengard

This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion. Are you a bad enough dude to rescue this article?

To do: Unused model of a green dragon can be found in the files. The page could use a full rewrite as well.

Drakengard is a hybrid musou and 3D flying shooter known for its disturbing story and cast, its harsh and experimental soundtrack, and for being the first game directed by the very unconventional director Yoko Taro.

Sampler Disc Leftovers#

Leftover graphics from volume one of Square Enix sampler disc can be found in the FPK folder, which also included demos of Final Fantasy XI and Star Ocean: Till the End of Time.

Unused Music#

There are a few tracks that exist within the game's files that don't play anywhere in game.

Unused Models#

A rather simplistic cat model based off Mona, an old 2chan meme, is present in file14_CAIM.fpk. Purpose unknown, though given that Yoko Taro (the writer/director of this game) is widely reputed as a genius troll, perhaps this model's presence is appropriate.

file12_CAIM.fpk, meanwhile, appears to be Neo from The Matrix. Purpose unknown.

Unused Graphics#

A graphic that's used for testing.

Some interesting files are found within the FILE_1074.fpk archive file, present in the IMAGE.BIN file from the PAL region ISO file.

A title screen, most likely a placeholder, is found within FILE_1074.fpk as "FILE_116.zim' (.zim is the custom image format used in this game for the image files).

Early in-game screenshots of what seems to be test cutscenes, found once again within FILE_1074.fpk as "FILE_28.zim" and "FILE_29.zim". These scenes never take place in-game, and Inuart is called "Eris", a character from Drakengard 2.
