Grabbed by the Ghoulies

Rare's first game for an Xbox system after being acquired by Microsoft, Grabbed by the Ghoulies is a fairly basic beat 'em up set in a haunted house, with a cel-shaded, Scooby-Doo-inspired aesthetic. It was significantly streamlined from Rare's initial concepts due to development having been hastily transitioned from the GameCube, and the final result wasn't well-received critically or commercially. Tons of self-deprecating jokes from Rare about how poorly it sold would follow.

Despite this, it's developed a cult following and, in 2015, was dusted off pretty well for Rare Replay on the Xbox One - in fact, it was the only game in the collection to get a native port instead of running through some form of emulation.

Unused Damage Tally UI#

During the events of the game, Grivens was to keep a tally of the damages Cooper caused around Ghoulhaven Hall. Graphics for the energy and pause menu icons are still present in the final game.
While the energy graphics are used in some of the bonus challenges, the pause graphic goes unused due to the tally being scrapped.
