Proto:Mario Kart Tour · the cutting room mirror

This page details one or more prototype versions of Mario Kart Tour.

This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion.

On April 23, 2019, Nintendo opened applications for participating in a closed beta test of Mario Kart Tour to Android users in North America and Japan, which ran from May 22-June 4.

To do:

Add info regarding the beta version of the game that shows an extremely early version of GBA Sunset Wilds shown in a Nintendo of Japan conference.
Early special skills and rarities for characters, karts, and gliders.
Early course icons.
The dump of the beta test assets floating around was dumped from an Android device and is missing a lot of alpha channels for the textures and sprites. Try to find an iPhone dump of this beta.

Cups and Courses#

The beta test of the game had only one tour available to the players, named "Beta Test", having 16 cups. No courses had T or R/T variants, and only 4 of the 13 courses had R variants. Note: Courses that reappear in latter cups without any changes are marked in italics.
