This game/console's online features are no longer supported.
While this game/console's online features were once accessible, they are (as of April 8, 2024) no longer officially supported and online-exclusive features may be documented as now-unseen content.

A handheld port of Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed for the 3DS, except with a whole lot more motion blur (and glitches). This, like the Wii U version, has the exclusive Mii racer.

Unused Content#

Graphics#

Hidden in the game's files are graphics for unused characters and items

Unused Characters

Description

An unused mugshot of Billy Hatcher. He was originally supposed to be in the game, but was scrapped because Sumo Digital couldn't think of a good enough vehicle design for him.

An unused mugshot of Classic Sonic, who isn't playable in any other version of the game. He was in consideration for the roster, however SEGA shot the idea down as they didn't want Classic and Modern Sonic in the same game without an explanation.

An unused mugshot of Ryo Hazuki. Though Ryo was playable in the first game, he was only available in Transformed as DLC for the PC release.

An unused mugshot of Joe Musashi. The game uses a different icon for his mugshot.

An unused mugshot of Sackboy, who Sumo considered for a Sony console exclusive (similar to Banjo-Kazooie in the Xbox 360 version of the first game, as well as Miis and Avatars across both games). Sony declined due to the fact Sackboy would be getting his own racing game around the time of this one's release.

An unused mugshot of an Xbox Avatar. This is most likely a leftover from the Xbox 360 version, where Xbox Avatars are playable characters.

An unused mugshot of a soccer ball(/football/soccer ball) with the word "TEMP" on it. Likely used as a placeholder during testing.

Mini Map Icons

Description

An unused minimap icon of Billy Hatcher.

It's the "TEMP" soccer ball again!

An unused, generic minimap icon for Miis.

Unused Item Icons

Description

SAASRT3DS_Superglove_icon.pngSuperglove_icon2.png

Unused icons for the Super Glove. The game uses the original Glove icons instead.

Unused Models

Description

Three unused hat models (resembling Mario's hat) intended to be used for Mii characters during their All-Star move.

Unused Items#

Careful, you'll lose an eye.

This page or section needs more images.
There's a whole lotta words here, but not enough pictures. Please fix this.
Specifically: Get a better image of the UFO model.

Also in the files of the game are graphics and models for some items that never appeared in the final game

Unused Items

Description

A UFO, it flies to the nearest racer. When it reaches to it's target, it abducts them while making them spin out, this item was likely removed late in development as it has a model, textures, sounds and an item icon and is fully functional. It is also present in the mobile versions.

SAASRT3DS_Thing_sloticon.pngSAASRT3DS_Thing_icon.pngSAASRT3DS_Thing_icon2.png

Icons for some kind of red rocket, it's unclear what this item is or what it does, but judging by how it looks, it could've been an early version of the Drone/Firework item.

Regional Differences#

There are a tiny amount of graphical differences between the US and EU releases of the game

US

EU

Description

SAASRT3DS_AGES-EU.pngSAASRT3DS_segabotlod_mainbody_diff.tga.gtxt.00-EU.png

Just like the in the Console Versions, the Dreamcast logo on AGES boat form (aka the Dreamcast controller) changes from red to blue in the European release.

HOME Menu icon for the Demo version. There appears to be (for some reason) two "DEMO" banners on the US icon, with one slightly sticking out behind the other.

The European version of the icon is unaffected.
