Tiny Chao Garden

Raise Chao! At least, until your GBA battery runs out. The Tiny Chao Garden minigame playable in Sonic Advance, Sonic Advance 2, and Sonic Pinball Party was also a standalone downloadable game through several GameCube discs: Sonic Adventure DX, Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, Phantasy Star Online Episode I&II, and the Nintendo GameCube Soft e-Catalog 2003 Enjoy Plus-ban.

Chao can be transferred to the GameCube Adventure games or by inserting a GBA cart containing a Tiny Chao Garden minigame.

Title Screen#

Keep in mind, not a real cartridge and from very different GameCube discs.

Version Differences#

Sonic Adventure 2: Battle#

Identical to the version in Sonic Advance, which makes sense given that both games were released on the same day in Japan. Features the minigames Rock-Paper-Scissors and Chao Memory. It can be accessed by depositing a Chao into the Chao Transporter while a GBA with no Game Pak is connected to the GameCube. The game boots directly into the garden.

Phantasy Star Online Episode I&II#

This version, unlocked by completing the mission "The Fake in Yellow", features the same minigames as before but adds a title screen. More notably, a yellow Chao named Tails is added, which can be transferred to the Adventure games to reveal it resembles its namesake.

Sonic Adventure DX: Director's Cut#

Ousts the title screen and replaces the Rock-Paper-Scissors minigame with Chao Search, where Sonic searches a fenced area for Cheese's friend, hidden among other Chao.

(On a side note, this is one of the only games in the franchise where Cheese is present without Cream.)

Nintendo GameCube Soft e-Catalog 2003 Enjoy Plus-ban#

This promotional disc for various GameCube games contains the elusive Tails Chao and the even more elusive Knuckles Chao and Amy Chao. Select one, and the レアチャオ・ダウンロード "Rare Chao Download" will send them to your GBA. The title screen has also been restored.
