To promote the then-upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog 3 film, Paramount and Sega distributed physical Genesis cartridges to various content creators. This cartridge is fully functional and playable on actual Genesis consoles, though there isn't much of a game here, as the only playable section features Shadow chasing Sonic down on an endless highway.

Not counting the Genesis Mini duology, this also marks the first licensed North American physical Sega Genesis release since Frogger 26 years earlier.

If done correctly, Sonic will say "Hey, I said no cheat codes! ...Okay, just this one." before the game returns you back to the menu with a "Trailer?" option added.

Selecting this new option displays a Sonic Adventure-style Emblem and the release date of a new trailer for the film, followed by a clip of Shadow punching the camera before booting back to the menu.

Crash Handler#

This screen is displayed if the game crashes, with different variations for each cause of crash. The ROM is apparently pretty flawed in its programming, as it can easily be broken and crashed just by mashing buttons on the controller. Interestingly, this reveals the project was built with the open-source SGDK, as this same crash handler is present in various homebrew Genesis games using it.
