On April 4, 2026, the Proto Challenge team recovered and published many 3DS system apps prototypes from 2010.
In this release, a prototype of the 3DS HOME Menu was found, which at this stage is non-functional and only displays placeholder content.
Differences#
- The only diorama jingles played are the Download Play and Health and Safety jingles. This is likely due to the rest of the other jingles not being made yet.
- There is no sound for when the HOME Button is pressed.
- The Activity Log diorama has no shading on the pencils.
- It uses the early DSiWare banner, gift box, and placeholder 2D texture found unused in 1.0.0-0.
- Pressing B will make more placeholder icons appear. Some of these icons are early variants that can also be found unused in the files of Download Play.
