This is a sub-page of Deltarune/Chapter 4/Unused Graphics/Characters.
Kris#
Kris and Susie high-fiving. In-game, they high-five while facing in the opposite direction.
More detailed animations of Kris putting away and taking out Asgore's flower. In the final game, these are extremely humorously fast 3-frame animations.
A rougher-looking Kris couch sprite.
An animation of Kris taking the SOUL out with little effort.
Kris throwing the SOUL extremely forcefully. Similar to an animation used in the Weird Route, but with more frames.
A bunch of different animations of Kris walking with the SOUL in their hand. In the final game, they just hold it above their head while facing the same direction.
Unused frame of Kris walking down with the SOUL. In-game, three of the frames are played before the Christmas catcher interrupts Kris.
A quite ominous animation of Kris holding the SOUL and turning towards the viewer, with their eye turning red.
Kris jumping with the SOUL in their hand. Whenever jumping for the SOUL in-game, they always catch it after the jump.
A slightly less refined animation of Kris snatching Dess' guitar. A version with slightly more frames would be used in-game.
Kris... catching Dess' guitar and the SOUL in mid-air?
This animation is technically used; however, Kris is hidden in the closet as it plays, so it's never seen... And it was clearly never meant to be seen, too.
Rough animation of Kris picking up the SOUL. They obviously do this elsewhere, but those scenes use cleaner versions of this animation.
Kris gently hiding the SOUL away.
Kris gently taking out the SOUL.
Kris leaning in the kitchen, grabbing something. A similar sprite in-game also includes the SOUL.
Old versions of the sprites used as Kris falls asleep on the kitchen counter, with rougher proportions and hair.
Kris playing dead, not holding Dess' guitar.
A much smoother animation of Kris covering Noelle's mouth in the Weird Route. Replaced with a much simpler three-frame animation.
When aborting the Weird Route here, Kris takes Noelle's hand and runs down and out the room. This right-facing variation is never used.
An alternate version of Kris being forced to clasp their hands against Noelle's. They aren't as close to her here, and instead clamp both their hands on hers as if it were a claw.
An animation where Kris actually shows the thorn in their palm, before resuming the original position of their hand.
An earlier, less violent kicking animation from Kris, with their hair staying relatively in place. Interestingly, this sprite's replacement doesn't have "side b" in the filename, even though it's still exclusive to the Weird Route.
Kris piloting Susie in wheelbarrow-formation, standing still. In-game, they walk while holding Susie like this.
Kris sitting down, in a decidedly more stiff position than what's seen in-game.
An old version of Kris sitting and looking down.
Kris falling in their Light World outfit. Different from a similar sprite in Chapter 1, as this sprite has a load of transparent pixels for whatever reason.
Kris standing upwards, with some minor differences from the used sprites in which they face upwards.

An alternate version of spr_kris_chef, which shows Kris facing downwards in their chef outfit from Chapter 3's Cooking Show minigame. In Chapter 4, this sprite only appears in the unused room_lerptest room.
An early, quite unfinished version of the animation that plays when Kris crashes through a part of the Prophecy. Lacks proper outlines.
Kris runs a lot during this Chapter, but they never run straight down.

Susie walking and running while holding Kris. In-game, only the first frame of the walking animation is used for the final attack against the Titan.
Possibly an example sprite for Kris playing a piano.
Alternative sprites of Kris jumping left and right for the climbing sections.
A different static alt pose of Kris jumping to the right. Woo!
A strange animation of Kris "jumping" to the right.
Some old sprites of Kris slipping. The last one is supposed to be right side, but it's using the left sprite instead.
Kris climbing, with a red outline. Most likely was intended for segments in which damage can occur, but this never shows up during these cases.

Fully lit versions of Kris defending and parrying the statue's attack. The used _dark versions obscure their legs and sword.
Preassembled animations of Kris blocking the statue's attack, which also shows its head.
Early animations of Kris sitting down to play piano. A bit rougher than the final version.
Placeholder sprite and arm animations used to test out Smallbu's animation of Kris playing the piano by themself. Used in the test room room_debug_pianotest.
Kris holding their head very far down. Similar sprites are used during the cutscene with Toriel and Sans, but the used ones aren't as heavily angled.
Kris' eye glowing red as they try to sleep.
Kris' eye flashing white.

Window sprites#
Just before the credits, when the screen splits into two—Kris in their bedroom and Susie outside in the rain—a sprite of Kris looking out the window is put in Susie's side. While this is hidden by the splitscreen, editing the game to move the screen over actually shows that Kris's sprite is correctly placed, just blocked under normal gameplay.1
Two more sprites of Kris looking through a window in Toriel's house, one with their face lit and the other with one of their eyes glowing ominously. These are created in the map, but unlike the first dark window sprite they are set to be invisible.

Susie#
A bunch of old sprites of Susie eating Toriel's pancakes at the beginning of the Chapter, the last featuring a very WIDE Susie-like expression.
Susie kicking the church pew from the side. In-game, she only kicks down.
Susie touching Noelle's shoulder, with both of them at a 3/4ths angle. In-game, they both just stand facing completely left.
A church version of Susie's silly reaction (AKA WIDE Susie) pose from Chapter 2.
Susie walking with her hands behind her head, in her church attire. A single frame of the left-facing one is used when entering the church and in the Weird Route, but not the whole animation.
Susie shaking Kris with various different expressions.
Susie walking to the right, with an awkward expression.
Old versions of Susie passing Ralsei's cake over to him.
Susie sitting on the couch, with slightly different poses and expressions. Similar sprites are used in-game, while these are not.
A lot of poses featuring Susie crossing her arms. She never does this in any cutscene in Noelle's house, so these all go unused.
Susie with her arms crossed, acting "tsundere", as indicated by the "tsun" prefix in the filenames.
Susie reaching to Noelle for something. The word "choudai" in the filename is a Japanese word which represents requesting something, especially if it's from somebody else.
Noelle grabbing Susie's hands, with Susie soon reacting in shock.
A LOT of sprites from an unfinished cutscene where Susie would play Noelle's handheld system on the couch with her. The first sprite was actually shown off in some concept art, but while the other sprites ended up being used, this one was cut.

Various unused directions of Susie holding a flashlight. Only a select few are used in-game.
Susie kicking. This animation is seen in-game, but as part of a different animation, so this duplicate is unused.
Susie walking in various directions, holding a candy cane. In-game, only a neutral left-facing variant is used.
Susie walking up with Dess' guitar in hand.
Various unused/alternate poses of Susie holding Dess' guitar.
Unused animation of Susie playing Dess' guitar for more than a single chord.
Alternate animation of Susie flubbing a guitar strum.
Alternate assembled animation of Carol grabbing the guitar out of Susie's hands, complete with slightly different posing on Susie's end. In-game, this interaction is composed of two overlapping animations, spr_carol_guitar_grab and spr_susie_guitar_grab (which each only feature Carol and Susie, respectively).
Susie pushing something.
Susie carrying Lancer, but without Lancer. For some reason, this is the only variant of this sprite to exist, suggesting she might've carried something else in this same way at some point.
An unused pose of Susie opening the doors to the church, facing towards Kris with a smug expression on her face.
Alternate sprites of Susie healing Kris at the beginning of the Sanctuary. Right-facing sprites are used later right after the Jackenstein fight, but these aren't.
Horizontally-flipped versions of the above sprites. The first frame is used for the Embezzle ACT on the Mizzle enemies, but the rest aren't used anywhere else in the chapter.
Susie blinking exasperatedly. Most likely was going to be used in Gerson's introductory cutscene.
Susie turning back to whisper to someone, before something in the opposite direction catches her attention.
Susie throwing a book.
A simpler variation of Susie's "singing" during the LullabyX ACT.
Susie walking to the left, pissed off.
Unused frame of Susie's eyes in the dark during the fight with Jackenstein.
Alternate poses for Susie when climbing. In-game, different versions of these are used.
An early, much rougher-looking sprite of Susie sitting on the couch in the room before the right piano puzzle piece in the Dark Sanctuary. This sprite is still placed on the room's debug layers to mark her position.
Alternate version of Ralsei grabbing Susie's hand.
Similar to Kris above, Susie never runs down.
Susie tanking hits, with a red outline around her. Seemingly indicates that the outline might've shown up during the sequence where everyone gets attacked by the Knight, but it went unused regardless.
Alternate animation of Susie's hair blowing in the wind.
Susie stepping back in battle, holding her axe. She does this pose during certain battles, but they always lack her axe.
Shaking her bloody hand after breaking the last prophecy.
Susie getting mad whilst facing up.
Susie with her head held down.
Susie does have an animation similar to this one in-game, but she faces left during it. This one is never used.
Susie sitting on the ground, injured. Interestingly, this sprite seems to be based on the unused bleeding sprites she has in Chapter 2.

Noelle#
Various unused/alternate expressions of Noelle in her church garb. Some of these sprites are identical to ones in-game, except there she's holding a cup of juice.
Neutral walking.
Noelle walking and standing around while blushing.
Noelle facing down, looking away with a sad expression.
Noelle facing away, with a rather pensive reaction to something.
A metric load of unused Noelle expressions/poses for her sitting on the couch with Susie, and sitting down in Dess' room. Some of these are used in the latter scenario, but are half-covered by the dialogue box. Besides those, most of these are completely unused, and only a select few, similar sprites are used in-game.
Noelle sitting, in "ganbatte" mode. "Ganbatte" is a Japanese phrase which roughly means "doing the best you can with what you have". Two other "ganbatte" Noelle sprites are used in-game, but these are her "yes!" poses she uses in the church after accepting Susie's proposal to come over.
Unused sprite of Noelle nudging Susie during the cutscene where Asgore sits down on the couch.
Noelle with a very intense, crimson-red blush on her face.
Different Noelle sprites with her "strangle face".
(Source: Original TCRF research)
Unused sprites intended for the aforementioned handheld gaming scene with Susie. There's a separate arm asset intended for Noelle's arm to move closer to Susie as well.
An animation intended for this sequence.
In addition, there's an old version of this base pose too! Yes, old versions of unused sprites. Really getting darker than dark now...
(Source: @canumvenati)
Susie flipping the front of Noelle's hair up, with Noelle reacting by blushing.
Noelle sharing a book with Susie.
Various different wide-eyed Noelle couch poses. Only a couple are used in-game.
Noelle walking in various directions with a flashlight. Only an animation of her walking left, and walking right with a hurried expression on her face are used in-game.
Different angles and poses of Noelle holding the pan.
Noelle walking with an awkward expression. She makes a similar face during the cutscene before the closet sequence, but she stands still while doing this.
Noelle shaking Susie. The last animation might've been for a version of the scene where she's trying to urge Susie out in panic thanks to Carol's arrival.
Noelle in shock and unhappiness in different directions, presumably in reaction to Carol. She only uses a couple different sprites during the Carol cutscene.
(Source: Original TCRF research)
Unused Noelle portrait sprites showing her... rather pissed off. Probably intended for when she communicates with the voice on the Weird Route.
Chapter 5 uses the second portrait during its Weird Route, while the third portrait's face was repurposed.
(Source: @canumvenati)
Unused overworld sprites of Noelle sitting, looking pissed off while covering her mouth. The file name suggests it was going to be used in a scene where someone steals a car? May be related to the boatload of unused train graphics for a dummied out event at her house.
(Source: Original TCRF research)
Ralsei#
Alternate version of Ralsei nuzzling during the group hug scene. In-game, a different fully bodied sprite gets used instead.
Ralsei blushing while holding tea.
Ralsei walking to the right, holding tea.
Ralsei looking to the left whilst holding tea.
Ralsei posing with a sad expression.
Alternate animation of Ralsei nuzzling something during battle.
Old versions of Ralsei sitting on the couch in the room before the right piano puzzle piece in the Dark Sanctuary, obviously edited from him playing video games in Chapter 3. Like Susie's old sitting sprite, these sprites are still placed on the room's debug layers to mark his positions.
Early versions of Ralsei's eyes-only appearance during the Jackenstein fight.
Ralsei walking down, sad.
Ralsei facing right, sad.
Ralsei shirking back in reaction to Susie's outburst. In-game, this sprite is part of a different animation.
Ralsei looking up, surprised, surrounded by a white glow.
A Ralsei version of the Susie tanking animation from above.
Ralsei looking up-right and walking during the glowing SOUL sequence.
Ralsei running and fly-running in several directions. The float left animation is used for a single frame during the cutscene where the Titan shoots a huge laser, but the full animation is never seen. The downward sprites seem to be based on Ralsei's design in chapter 1.
Unused and alternate unused Ralsei climbing poses.
Ralsei crying in various different configurations.
