This is a sub-page of Deltarune/Chapter 2/Unused Graphics.
Fully Unused Tilesets#
bg_dw_cyber_lightbulb_tileset#
This tileset is likely meant to be animated judging by the way the tiles are lined up and the repeat frames. Interestingly the tiles are 80x80 as opposed to the usual 40x40.
bg_dw_coaster#
A tileset for the repeating coaster seen in the first Berdly fight. A looping sprite is used instead in the final.
For some reason, this is the one tileset with 32x32px tiles as opposed to the usual 40x40.
bg_dw_trash_tileset (Old Trash Zone tileset)#
An early tileset for the Trash Zone area of Cyber City.
bg_dw_city_alley_glitch_tileset (Cyber City alleyway glitches)#
bg_dw_city_alley_buildings_glitch_tileset is used instead for wall glitches.
bg_dw_city_carnival_booths (Cyber City carnival booths)#
A tileset for the booths seen in the Cyber City carnival. Sprites are used in the final.
bg_dw_city_carnival_lanterns_edges & bg_dw_city_carnival_lanterns#
Lanterns meant for the Cyber City carnival
Partially Unused Tilesets#
Tilesets contain a lot of unused textures meant for rooms.
bg_dw_dither_overlay_tileset (Overlay tileset)#
bg_battleLayer (Generic Battle Layer)#
Some unused general outlines for overworld bullet sections.
bg_dw_castle_town_tileset (Castle Town tileset)#
Unused ground sparkles.
Unused path tiles.
Unused shrub parts.
Unused shrub outlines.
Identical sprites are placed flush on top of these tiles, making them unseen.
bg_dw_castle_dojo_tileset (Party Dojo Tileset)#
A regular looking bed for the Party Dojo. The final game uses Clover's three-headed bed instead.
Tiles for the Help Desk. These are sprites in the final game.
Unused parts of the floor outline.
bg_dw_castle_1f_tileset (Ralsei's Castle tileset)#
Some unused floor tiles.
The top of the castle walls but with a dark purple color.
bg_dw_cyber_tileset (Cyber Field tileset)#
Large cyber-themed sign.
A doorway possibly meant for a coaster building. The used one is slightly different and is a part of a single image.
Some kind of switch or a light.
A decor piece that was probably supposed to be animated.
A weird, smiling platform (?) with an unknown purpose.
Dots on a black and transparent backgrounds, possibly depicting stars.
Some decorative tiles for Cyber Field platforms.
The bottom left corner tile is used once and is technically visible in room_cyber_tasque_battle, however any identifying features are covered by a gradient overlay that makes it indistinguishable from the tiles around it.
A variant of the one-tile gap without the top outline
Unused platform variants
bg_dw_cyber_destroyed_tileset#
An unused lower half for one of the destroyed tiles
bg_dw_cyber_monitor_tileset#
An alternate version of the monitor seen in Cyber City's first traffic room.

To do: |

A large screen depicting Queen.

A brighter version of the Queen Clean poster that appears in the room where you meet Spamton. The used one belongs to another tileset.
An assortment of different posters and papers.
An unused variant of the yellow banner with less detail.

Pedestrian crossing light.
Sewer drains. Possibly removed because it wouldn't make sense for it to rain inside the internet-themed Dark World.
Some kind of transition between dimly and brightly lit places.

A piece of bridge railing in an older style.
Unused pieces of a blue Addison's shop. Only the door and some decoration was used in the final.

Unused TV-themed shop. Used in room_dw_city_big_3_og and room_dw_city_big_3_backup_2exits.

Lots and lots of decals resembling the concept art for the city that either appear only in unused rooms or are completely unused. They appear in nearly every unused Cyber City room.
The following assets are used in the September 2019 Cyber City mockup video:

A still version of the front facing traffic light (normally animated) and unused ones facing either side.
Unused ending (bottom) portion of the pedestrian crossing. Also present in room_dw_city_traffic_2_old.

One set of posters.
Assets that can be seen in a September 2020 prerelease screenshot:
These banners are used in the final but cut off at the top, making the top tiles unused. They are seen fully intact in the screenshot.
An unused roof foreground decoration.
bg_dw_city_street_edges_tileset#
There are unused tiles that connect the buildings and sidewalks.
Some other unused pieces.
Some roof decor. It matches the ones in bg_dw_city_tileset but in a dark blue shade instead of black.
bg_dw_city_street_animated_tileset#
Unused sidewalk animations.
Unused sidewalk animations containing grates.
There are some static tiles in this tileset, though all of them go unused.
bg_dw_city_sidewalk_animated_tileset#
Some more unused sidewalk animations. These are four frames long as opposed to bg_dw_city_street_animated_tileset's 3 frame loops.
Some more unused sidewalk animations containing grates.
bg_dw_city_alley_animated_tileset#
Some unused sidewalk glitches. These are two out of the only three that are fully static.
bg_dw_city_alleyway_tileset (Cyber City alleyway tileset)#
Dim versions of the posters from Cyber City tileset also go unused.
The moss corner actually exists for all corners, not just one.
Some unused sidewalk cracks.
An unused piece of mossy wall.
A manhole. In the final, a sprite is used instead.
Some early dumpsters.
bg_dw_city_alley_tileset (Cyber City alley tileset)#
A darker alleyway version of the Floppy Disk doors.
Some more unused grates, this time in alleyway colors!
Some more unused sidewalk cracks.
The rest of the moss corners.
bg_dw_city_top (Cyber City heights tileset)#
Almost all the corner tiles go unused, except for the bottom right one time on a thin platform. This was likely because these tiles only give a one pixel difference that the rounded edges that surround the floor make up for.
bg_dw_mansion_foyer (Queen's Mansion entrance tileset)#
A blue chandelier variant.
Expanded tiles and decor for the Foyer's carpet.
A second layer for the stairs, without the illumination from the Queen statue.
A decal for the foyer that resembles the levels of an audio mixer. Taken from its original concept art
Miscellaneous wall details.

|
Many of the graphics here seem to be early versions of the finalized tiles seen in bg_dw_mansion_interior_tileset. This, along with a few beta sprites seem to indicate a push somewhere in development to make the overworld decor look more unique and "digital" as opposed to the more generic originals.
Decorated doors.
Some kind of gate.
A logo with a big "Q" and a star on top left.
A variety of decorative things. A brighter version of the chandelier is used as a separate sprite.
Some unused walls.
Some wall decals. The mansion's walls are entirely flat in the final.
An upside down version of the wall trim.
The bottom of the wall without a trim.
Some basic tiles. The turquoise ones could've been extensions for the early tables as they share the same palette.
Unused glowing wall tiles for the acid pool.
Tileset for islands in acid pool.
Tiles that would make decorative portion of acid pool.
Animated bubbles for the acid pool.
An acid puddle with some kind of purple drawing.
bg_dw_mansion_interior_tileset (Newer Queen's Mansion tileset)#
The dining room chairs with red shadows below.
Carpet decals without the blue trim.
These upper corners without a blue trim go unused.
A half-a-tile thin wall
bg_dw_mansion_kitchen#
Tiles for a fully surrounded stovetop. Only 6 stovetops are gathered in the final, meaning only the edges are used.
The oven timers use sprites, so this tile goes unused.
bg_dw_mansion_acid_fountain (Acid Tunnel tileset)#
bg_dw_mansion_acid_animated_tileset#
Unused edge animations for the acid islands.
bg_dw_mansion_acid_island_tileset#
This is the only unused graphic in the finalized acid island tileset. Appears to be a cave.
bg_dw_mansion_top (Mansion Roof tileset)#
A top left corner with a stray green pixel.
Filled out platforms that go unused in favor of scaffolding.
Some unused floor decoration.
bg_dw_mansion_spamton_basement_tileset (Mansion Basement tileset)#
A plain wall tile. All the walls in the Mansion Basement have full detail.
