Green Pippins' Motif Nomenclature#
After the dojo fight against the Trashy Trio, the Green Pippins will say the line "I THOUGHT I heard someone misusing the BATTAT motif!!" in all versions of the game outside of the Nintendo Switch 2 release, where "BATTAT" is changed to "AIR WAVES". This is due to the BATTAT minigame from Chapter 4 not being in the Switch 2 version, while Air Waves was a Switch 2 exclusive minigame where the background music did indeed use the same motif.
Flowery's Intro#
Because Flowery's introductory FMV is animated in 16:9, the PC release letterboxes the cutscene so that it can fit within the game's 4:3 display. Since the console releases are also 16:9 (using dynamic borders to fill up the space not occupied by gameplay), the FMV takes up the entire screen there.

Hotfix Update 2#
Released on June 26th, 2026. Chapter 5 is updated on PC/Mac to v0.0.242.
- Fixed a crash towards the end of the game in an area with a yellow guy in the background.
- Fixed a crash involving a small glove.
- Fixed a crash when encountering a leaf enemy while leaving a room.
- Also fixed a bug where encountering a Leafling while over the entrance to the cave where Yellow can be seen lying down in whilst in platformer mode would cause you to be taken to that room and cancel the battle. This would set the state of the encounter to that of having defeated the enemies using violence.
- Opening a pink door at a precise location no longer makes the screen go black.
- Magical glass was placed over a wall you're not supposed to go over.
- This wall specifically seems to be the one to the right of where the battle against Yellow's punishment gun intended to blow him up takes place, prior to encountering Blue and being able to go over it the intended way.
- Using Rudebuster in the final phase of a pink enemy no longer crashes the game.
- Fixed a crash if you put Ralsei in your party before sleeping in bed to skip the intro.
- Fixed a crash when Trashy Trio are defeated.
- Fixed a memory leak which could crash the game if certain actions were repeated an excessive number of times.
- Two debug mode functions were added:
- Pressing Ctrl during the Trashy Trio fight sets their mercy to 98%, likely used to fix the crash that sometimes occurred when beating them.
- Pressing P while in the first room of the Dark World causes your plot value to be set to 199.

Patch 2#
Released on July 22nd, 2026. Chapter 5 is updated on PC/Mac and PlayStation 4/PlayStation 5 to v0.0.250.
Gameplay Additions#
- A Golden Tenna Statue will now appear in Castle Town in Chapter 5 if you got it from the Ball Machine in Chapter 3.
- The ability to permanently re-enable Voice Clips has been shoddily added if you lose to the Chapter Boss and have them disabled.
- This is done through a sparkle that appears on the ground after losing. When interacting with it, the following dialogue is shown:
* (It's a couple of flowery
hairclips that say VOICE.)
* (Put on the FLOWERY VOICE
CLIPS?)
Flowery
voiceclips No
on
When selecting "Flowery voiceclips on":
* (You reluctantly attached them
to Ralsei where he can't see.)
* (Flowery voiceclips are now
ON...)
When selecting "No":
* (You ignored them.)
* (Ralsei also ignored them a
lot.)
Gameplay Fixes#
- In Chapter 4, defeating a Titan Spawn with violence no longer erroneously counts as "Lost". An issue in Chapter 5 was fixed where Jackenstein would not appear in your town because of this.
- Additionally, the special code that caused Jackenstein's voice blip(s) to play in random pitches was readded to
scr_textsoundin this patch, so his voice blip is now consistent with how it sounded in Chapter 4.
- Additionally, the special code that caused Jackenstein's voice blip(s) to play in random pitches was readded to
- Susie now correctly has the additional 4 magic points she gets from beating the Hammer of Justice.
- However, the flag used to check for this is the flag set when Susie learns BetterHeal, which does happen when beating Hammer of Justice, but would also happen when beating Sound of Justice, a mandatory boss in Chapter 4. This meant that Susie would gain those additional magic points by Chapter 5 regardless of whether you had beaten the Hammer of Justice or not.
- Fixed some issues where the number on the TP display was occasionally inaccurate.
- You can no longer incorrectly leave a certain scene by frame-perfectly opening the menu in the Light World.
- Fixed an issue where on gamepads, ZL / L2 would count only as a single frame press of confirm in Chapter 5 only.
- Fixed an issue involving bugged blank item slots which had been carried over from Chapter 4 save files before it was fixed in that chapter.
- Fixed an issue where you can clip through the floor after fighting three Shi by immediately opening the ACT menu, and other bugs involving the ACT menu.
- You can no longer crash the game by hitting an enemy and a Mysterious Statue at the same time. (Unless you can)
- You can no longer walk around during combat by interacting with Final Starwalker on the same frame you engage a battle. (And other similar issues)
- Fixed various scenarios where you can move around with the menu open.
- Fixed certain bullet patterns not giving TP when grazed.
- The bullet pattern in particular is Netskie's Rabbick attack.
- Kris will no longer stay sideways if you enter into the final cutscene of Chapter 5 sideways.
- Fixed MANY other minor issues, visual or otherwise.
- A bug was fixed in the right side of Castle Town where the Rudinn who ran away from the interaction with Rudinn Ranger and Mizzle in the town would move as if it were speaking while other characters were talking.
- After the first Aqua fight, Susie's dialogue questioning if the feather can get them through now only appears if you had tried to climb the beanstalk prior to beating Aqua, as opposed to it appearing if you had watched the cutscene with Asgore and Flowery.
- Susie's healing spell was renamed to just be called "Heal".
- The sprite for the racing Winglade NPC seen in Castle Town was given its missing pupil back, as well as a tad bit more padding on the sprite.

Patch 3#
|
|
This needs some investigation. |
Released on July 30th, 2026. Chapter 5 is updated on PC/Mac and PlayStation 4/PlayStation 5 to v0.0.253. This is the last patch planned for Chapter 5.
Additions#
- After losing to Pink once, a Pink Bomb will appear outside the arena. Talking to this bomb allows you to choose "Nicer" or "Meaner". Choosing "Nicer" causes the boss's small bomb attacks to have an indication of where their explosions will target. The bombs will also take 1/6th of a second longer to explode. Choosing "Meaner" causes all of the boss's attacks to deal 25% more damage as well as slightly increasing the speed of a couple of attacks. The bomb explosion hitbox also activates 1 frame later regardless of difficulty.
- Depending on if you pick "Meaner" or "Nicer", the "Mewers Live" billboard during the boss fight will show a different color sign, and the post-fight cutscene changes slightly. Beating Pink on "Meaner" difficulty results in her giving Kris a flurry of kisses (giving kiss a flurry of Krisses?) after the initial one before flashing a peace sign, while beating Pink on "Nicer" difficulty makes her pull her eyelid and stick her tongue out at the viewer instead of kissing Kris (Krissing kiss?).
- Malius now animates when fusing items.
Fixes#
- Due to a fix in Chapter 4 where Susie's magic was erroneously upgraded to BetterHeal upon beating Sound of Justice, Susie no longer gains additional magic points by Chapter 5 despite having not beaten Hammer of Justice.
- Removed Honey Toast from the inventory when sleeping in the bed at the beginning of the Chapter.
- Fixed a softlock introduced by a previous bug fix in the Garden room with the light pillar.
- Fixed a crash introduced by a previous bug fix where you could defeat Yellow with violence using a precise setup.
- Fixed a bug where you can walk around with the dialogue box open in the room where you fight Sheary.
- Fixed dozens of minor bugs and visual issues.
