This is a sub-page of Deltarune/Chapter 5.
Light World#
Kris' cage opening and closing gently.
A rose.
Koinobori meant for the Festival.
A closed sign for the police station. The strength tester is in front of the door, so this wouldn't be seen even if it was used.
A pre-built animation of the town hall being decorated by Rudy. This is built using different parts in-game.
A different sign for Ice-E's at the festival, reading "GRAND OPANING". In-game, the sign is instead a modified version of the normal sign.
A version of the mummy in the Church without Vegetoid as its head.
Old versions of the background to the beach at sunset, with a different, much less stark take on the lighting.
(Source: Original TCRF research)
Early version of the dunk tank seen at the festival. Reveals an idea for some sort of fence to seemingly surround a character sitting on it.

spr_festival_strongtest (Unused) |
spr_town_strength_tester (Used) |
|---|---|
|
|
|
Early design of the strength tester machine notably featuring no bell, a boxing glove icon, a different hammer as well as only a single hit pad rather than two.
|
spr_festival_crownvote_2 (Unused) |
spr_festival_crownvote_1 (Used) |
|---|---|
|
|
|
An early version of the festival voting table notably missing one of the crowns.

Dark World#
Castle Town#
Early versions of the instrument icons for the Castle Town Church piano. These are more reminiscent of the Lancer/Queen icons from Lancer's room in previous chapters; the last one is even a direct copy of the former.
A banner for the racetrack in Castle Town. Probably should be above the doors to the Castle, but it's not used for whatever reason.
An unused frame for the fridge in Ralsei's room, which shows a cake inside of it. While the dialogue that occurs when interacting with the fridge does state that there is a cake inside, the fridge always appears closed.
A "house" for flowers. Based on the naming scheme of the Church Castle Town building being similar to this, it seems this'll be used in Chapter 6 for a Flower King Castle Town building.
Various Castle Town buildings decorated to be Christmas-themed. Most likely will be used in Chapter 6, based on this chapter's ending (which does NOT use these sprites).
In addition to the buildings, there are also various Christmassy props, consisting of a giant Christmas tree, a wreath, a bow, a large candy cane, a string of lights, and a couple ornaments.
Garden#
Wardrobes with a distinctly different appearance and hue than the ones used. The finalized wardrobes resemble the ones seen in Kris' room in Castle Town and in TV World in Chapter 3.
An old version of the streetlights seen in the beginning of the Garden area.
Pre-assembled tree. Final trees are made up of different assets, like the ones in Chapter 1.
A quite obvious placeholder of the running waterfalls.
Obvious placeholder for the plaque in the room where Flowery joins your party.
The base of a bridge.
A... "Shramulet" for the diner. Pretty obviously unfinished.
Cliffs#
Unused backgrounds for the cliff area, showing the sunrise.
Large piles of money, intended for a scene with Ferroll. He only smashes coins in increments of $50 in-game.
A Rabbick burrowing down into the ground, and a more detailed sprout. Probably intended for an earlier version of the Shi farmer NPC's farm.
A very rough-looking sign meant to point towards the Shi that "blocks the way".
Temp sprite of bell banners meant for the Cliff area.
Flower Castle#
|
spr_blue_feather_old |
spr_blue_feather |
|---|---|
|
|
|
An old version of the Berdly(?) feather that Kris gives to Seth. The old version notably uses the blue color from Berdly's Light World palette, while the finalized version uses colors from his Dark World design in Chapter 2.
(Source: Original TCRF research)
A purely light-green sprite labelled "cafeclouds".
An animated version of the bamboo deer scare seen in Zen sections of Flower Castle, likely intended to be used as a background decoration in platforming sections based on its name spr_plat_zengarden_bamboo.
The sign above the door that requires a certain number of foxes to open, counting less than three foxes. Because the Netskie disguised as Aqua blocks the way until you find three foxes, these versions of the sign remain offscreen.
(Source: Original TCRF research)
A crumbling stone platform, meant for Flower Castle.
Various early/unused decorations meant for "Towery", the giant rotating tower seen in Flowery's fight.
Early splash animation seemingly intended for when Susie jumps into the pool in the Onsen.
(Source: Original TCRF research)
An unused large Dark Fountain sprite similar to the one that was originally found in Chapter 4's files. Unlike Chapter 4's version however, this one is tinted pink and has a different sprite name.
Effects#
Superbloom.
A massive shockwave Flowery would've made.
(Source: Original TCRF research)
A black and white version of spr_gerson_hit_fx4, one of Hammer of Justice's hit effects from Chapter 4. This sprite is only present in Chapter 5's files and since the Old Man doesn't appear at all in this chapter, the existence of this graphic ends up being... very bizarre, to say the least.
(Source: Original TCRF research)
Other#
A placeholder "face sprite" consisting purely of a blue bouquet with purple letters appropriately spelling out "TO DO".
An old version of the platswap statue. The sprite with the statue visible is an "animation" of five identical frames.
(Source: Original TCRF research)
Unused sprites for a bamboo platform intended for platforming sections.
(Source: Original TCRF research)
Tilesets#
Fully Unused Tilesets#
Temp Grass#
A very rough placeholder grass tileset named bg_dw_tempgrass_tileset.
(Source: Original TCRF research)
Prototype Garden Grass#

Two prototype tilesets intended for the Garden, with the first having pink grass like in the final tileset and the second having green grass as well as early stairs and railings. The pink grass is mostly the same as its final counterpart, however the outlines of the blossom petals are a different color and it features unused variations of dirt and water tiles. Note that the bricks in the second tileset are used in the Ideal Diner found near the end of the Garden.

The grass in these tilesets are intended to be animated based on how their tiles are lined up.
(Source: Original TCRF research)
Unused Garden Edge Tiles#
An early tileset for the grass edges in Garden, featuring many colors of grass not seen in the final game.
(Source: Original TCRF research)
Placeholder Tree Tileset#
A placeholder tileset for the tree seen during the Hopschef challenge.
(Source: Original TCRF research)
Early Cliffs Tileset#
An early version of the Cliffs tileset, which is brighter and much more saturated than the final tileset.
(Source: Original TCRF research)
Early Dark Cliffs Tileset#
Another version of the previous tileset, this time being more closer to the final Cliffs tileset in terms of colors and having more tiles. Some tiles here like the ground, walls, and decorative flowers seem to be identical to the final tileset, and are also used in the climb to Cliffs and the exterior of Pink's shop, while the tiles containing vines and what seems to be bamboo are different or just don't exist in the final tileset at all.
Unused Vines Tileset#
An early tileset for tangled vines, which are the same as they appear in the first early Cliffs tileset, just minus the rocks behind them. These vines can actually be found in the room of Garden right before you meet Aqua, however they are outside of the camera's view and can't normally be seen in-game.
(Source: Original TCRF research)
Early 2D Cliffs Tileset#
Another early Cliffs tileset intended for 2D sections, as evident by its name being tiles_cliff2D. Some tiles are stretched vertically, likely with the intention of being squished down to normal size by the 2D effects.
(Source: Original TCRF research)
Placeholder Tileset#
A very simple placeholder tileset that consists of 3 tiles of solid colors. The colors of these tiles are very similar to that of Cliffs, so it may have been a placeholder for that area's tiles.
(Source: Original TCRF research)
Early Flower Castle Entrance Tileset#
An early version of the tileset used for the exterior of Flower Castle. This tileset actually exists in the final room hidden under the final tiles.
(Source: Original TCRF research)
Early Zen Tileset#
|
Early Zen Tiles |
Final Flower Castle Tiles (cropped to the size of the Zen tileset) |
|---|---|
|
|
An early tileset for the Zen areas found in the left wing of Flower Castle, being an edited version of the normal Flower Castle tileset. The tiles taken from Flower Castle are brighter here, while the only unique Zen tiles, those being the floor tiles, are darker than the final Zen tileset. Some tiles from the Flower Castle tileset actually have more differences here than color, such as the railing supports being 1 pixel to the right and the signs above the doors having no symbols on them. The wood tiles found here exist in the Shinobeetle encounter room on a hidden layer.

Flower Castle Sun Tileset#
|
Sun Flower Castle Tiles |
Normal Flower Castle Tiles (cropped to the size of the Sun tileset) |
|---|---|
|
|
An unused darker variant of the tileset seen in Flower Castle that is labelled as "sun". It's possible that this could have been used as a sunset variation of Flower Castle. Similar to the early Zen tileset, this also has the railing supports offset to the right by 1 pixel.
(Source: Original TCRF research)
Early Castle Top Tileset#
An early version of the gold tileset used in parts of the top of Flower Castle, featuring a very rough placeholder for the Delta Rune symbol.
(Source: Original TCRF research)
Partially Unused Tilesets#
tiles_BrickWalls2#
The tileset used for brick walls in the Garden has an unused recolored version of the doors found at the beginning of Chapter 1's Field.
There is also an unused lone door frame and the bottom of the door frame on bricks. The one place where the opened door with bricks is used, the door to the Tropical Starwalker room, uses the middle section of the door as the bottom, likely by mistake.
The tileset also contains an unused middle section of the stairs that appear in the game alongside an unused larger variation of the stairs. The sides of the large stairs exist in the room where Flowery joins your party, but are hidden under the grass.
Lastly, there are a few unused cracked brick tiles as well as floor tiles that are never seen.
tiles_BrickWalls2_dark#
Like the normal brick walls tileset, its dark version also has unused doors.
Miscellaneous#
Non-glowing, small version of this chapter's logo animation. The used version is labelled "IMAGE_LOGO_CENTER_SEPARATE_GLOW_3".
A strange sprite that seems to be a mockup of the battle system labelled as spr_debug_battleDemo. In the game's code, it is used in test objects for Aqua, Orange & Blue's bullet patterns.
A similar sprite that seems to be intended to test the camera.
Debug markers for the platforming sequences.
Debug sprites for shadow platforms.
Debug cube for Ralsei and Susie's follower objects during the platforming segments.
Debug sprite for platforms, presumably on the Y-axis.
Debug sprite for Checkpoint
More Debug Cube
Debug marker for the footprints in the hidden Zen room.
(Source: Original TCRF research)
Placeholder marker for an animation.
(Source: Original TCRF research)
Partially Obscured#
Greater Dog#
Greater Dog posing for the strength checker. Only the right side is seen, as Greater Dog is partially out of frame during these scenes.
(Source: Original TCRF research)
Catty#
Some portrait sprites for Catty meant for her cutscene with Pizzapants have her covering her mouth with her paws. While in some of the portraits the paws are drawn into the same sprite, in others the paws are separate overlayed sprites covering her full expression.
Yellow#
When Yellow digs himself out of the ground at Susie's request, the lower portion of his sprite is mostly hidden behind Kris, and part of his right arm is hidden behind Susie.
(Source: Original TCRF research)
Aqua#
Aqua soaks her dress in her own RedSplatter as a backtrack gag in Yellow's room. The lower portion of this sprite is hidden, as it is submerged in water.
(Source: Original TCRF research)
Pink#
This front-facing sprite of Pink with her eyes closed is coded to appear just before the "SHUT UP!" dialogue during the second phase of her fight. However, it gets completely obscured by the big heart-shaped speech bubbles that pop up before that line.
(Source: Original TCRF research)
Reflections#
Some freely visible sprites have alternate versions that can only be seen as a reflection in the polished wood floor of Flower Castle. Because the floor isn't a perfect mirror, these reflections only show up with partial transparency.
