Bugs Bunny (or Roger Rabbit, depending on the region) is inside of a castle that is crazy. Maybe it's wearing a straitjacket.
Sub-Pages#
Unused Graphics#
Famicom Disk System Leftovers#
Two title screen graphics that were used in the game's FDS iteration, Roger Rabbit. Not used here for quite obvious reasons.
Conversely, the "Push Start" graphic in The Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle is unused in Roger Rabbit.
Unused Object#
A steel box object that doesn't appear to be used in any level in either variation of the game.
Title Screen Bits#
Title graphic bits left over from the prototype, when the game was called Bugs Bunny Fun House. The upper-right tile corner isn't even used in the prototype.
Ending Graphics#
An unknown bit in the ending graphic bank, probably a placeholder.
Regional Differences#
The game was originally based on Who Framed Roger Rabbit. LJN held the rights to make video games based on the movie in the US and Europe at the time and had already contracted Rare to make a different tie-in game, so Kemco decided to base the localization on Looney Tunes instead. And thus begins the Crazy Castle series' incredibly convoluted history of regional licenses or lack thereof.

The title screen graphics were obviously changed, with Bugs' sprite being quite a bit larger than Roger's. Due to a lack of space, the credits had to be moved to the Kemco logo, and Kotobuki System are no longer credited as the developers.
Due to being released on the Famicom Disk System, Roger prompts you to swap the disk side on the title screen. Once the disk is set to Side B the speech bubble changes to "Now Loading", before the screen fades to a separate "NOW LOADING" screen. Said screen also appears after every few stages to load more level data. Crazy Castle had no need for this due to being released on cartridge, so Bugs simply prompts you to "PUSH START".

Crazy Castle also features a unique title screen theme. Roger Rabbit simply uses the theme from the "house" type levels.
Gameplay#
- The enemies are all slightly faster in Roger Rabbit. This makes the game much harder in the later levels.

You collect hearts to complete the level in Roger Rabbit, and carrots in Crazy Castle.

The lethal item that warps you to one of the "special levels" (S1-4) is a cracked skull in Roger Rabbit, and a decidedly less deadly-looking "no carrot" sign in Crazy Castle.

In a cute touch, Crazy Castle adds the classic "That's all folks!" phrase to the post-level password screen. (Also yes, despite being released on the Famicom Disk System, Roger Rabbit only uses passwords for saving)
Ending#
In Roger Rabbit, before the final screen is shown, a scene where Roger activates a switch and lowers Jessica down is shown. This sequence was cut in Crazy Castle but the tile bank for the "The End" scene still contains all the relevant background tiles for the cutscene.

In addition to the change in characters, the bottommost row of tiles were corrected in Crazy Castle.
