Disney Infinity 3.0

This game/console's online features are no longer supported.
While this game/console's online features were once accessible, they are (as of March 3, 2017) no longer officially supported and online-exclusive features may be documented as now-unseen content.

Careful, you'll lose an eye.

This page or section needs more images.
There's a whole lotta words here, but not enough pictures. Please fix this.

This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion.
Are you a bad enough dude to rescue this article?

To do:

  • Rip the models and graphics for this game.
  • Document the leftover/unused maps located in the \worlds folder.
  • Prerelease page documenting the cancelled sets and possibly 4.0.
  • Maybe document the leaked source code for 3.0 (and 4.0)?
    • Speaking of the Source Code, someone needs to archive it's entirely due to it being taken down.
  • Overtime, we need more information to be added, as there is allot of new information relating to the scrapped new content.
  • Perhaps change the page to be simply called 'Disney Infinity 3.0', as the console versions seem to have more unused content than the Gold Edition.
  • Add a section for unused localization.

Disney Infinity 3.0 is the third and final iteration of the popular toys-to-life game series from Disney, this time including content from the Star Wars universe among other franchises. It would be abruptly discontinued in mid-2016 due to not meeting financial expectations, with many planned sets never making the cut, Disney Infinity 4.0 ultimately getting the boot, and Disney Interactive Studios getting shut down.

Note: All headings are what the data is referred to in the game directory. The game refers to anything that isn't part of the scenery as a "character". "Choreographies" is likely animation data while "worlds" are any scenery the player may see.

Premium Characters#

To do:

  • Add more information to the Premium Figures.
  • Add images or gifs of the Premium figures restored.

At the time of the cancellation, developers were working on larger 12-inch premium versions of the toys for some characters. Some data for the models and abilities of a few of these characters are in the game:

  • Hulk
  • Hulkbuster
  • Jack Skellington
  • Lightning McQueen
  • Elsa
  • Darth Vader
  • Yoda

Missing/Cut Characters#

Console Characters Absent on Gold#

A few characters that appeared in the Console versions didn't appear in the Gold Edition release, with those being:

  • Vision
  • Captain America: The First Avenger
  • Ant-Man
  • Black Panther
  • Baloo

Other characters from the console versions who are harder to restore are:

  • Alice
  • Mad Hatter
  • Time
  • Dory
  • Nemo

Scrapped Upcoming Characters#

There is also data for a few characters who were supposed to be released after the shutdown, such as:

Peter Pan#

Peter Pan was by far the most finished scrapped character for the game. His model for gameplay and in pieces can be found in the Console versions (first found by modder ThatFroggy), and can be restored on Gold Edition, along with all of his moves. His icons can also be found in the files too. Unfortunately, his effects are lost, his Skill-Tree is a slightly edited one of Nick Wilde's (from Zootopia), and his voice-lines are missing. However, he was supposed to be voiced by Blayne Weaver, as he's credited in the credits of the game for Voice Acting. He also has localization for his name, and his Skill-Tree description. His dialog does have localization, which results in a look to how his voice-lines would've been ig finished. Peter Pan's figures were also completely finished and ready to be shipped to stores. The box for them was also done, along with the art-work for it, and his Figure ID was already made (INF-1000306). There were a handful of the Peter Pan figures produced (according to John Vignocchi), which ended up to be true, as allot of the Peter Pan figures were later leaked and sold online. Sadly, placing the figure on the Infinity base gives you an error message basically saying an Update is required to get him in-game. However, due to how much modders have progressed in the modding scene for Disney Infinity 3.0, he is almost perfected.

Doctor Strange#

Spider-Gwen#

Spider-Gwen seems to be one of the most unfinished characters who never managed to make the cut. In the files, she does have a .BENT file to load (in which .BENT files load the model with materials and animations), but her animations are unfinished; she doesn't have any attack animations, and her fingers seem broken due to her models' scale. Her figure design was finished, however. According to the leaked Disney Infinity 3.0 source-code, Spider-Gwen was meant to have a cloaking ability.

C.L.U.#

There is a fully playable character that wasn't released, C.L.U. from Tron: Legacy, which can be accessed with mods, along with the Marvel Battlegrounds characters. Though in the console versions, he does appear in Toy Box Takeover as a rare boss, he isn't playable. C.L.U. also has a finished set of moves, animations, voice-lines and a finished Skill-Tree with localization already added to it (and so with his name, description and dialog). He was supposed to arrive as a PC exclusive, though this unfortunately never happened.

Moana#

To do:

  • Add more Information for the Moana content.
  • Add a Pre-Release Page for Concept art related to Moana.
  • Maybe make Moana its own sub-page?

As a tent-pole Walt Disney Animation Studios release, Moana naturally had a Play Set and figures in development. Quite a bit is left behind in the data, but footage and screenshots have been leaked overtime. Of the following, only Maui and Moana would have been playable characters.

Playable Character Leftovers#

Maui (MOA_Maui)#

Maui is the only discovered playable character from Moana, with his model being a possibly temporary one, as he isn't as detailed as the leaked footage and screenshots of the Moana Play Set. He also doesn't have separated action figure-like joints, compared to every other character. Hacking Maui to be playable has him animating, using the unused .BENT file, but he doesn't have any attack animations, seemingly using animations from Mr. Incredible and Hulk. He also seems to have a broken UV map, further implying that he is a placeholder.

Moana (MOA_Moana)#

Moana, being the main protagonist, is oddly absent from the game files for 3.0 Gold Edition. However, her model and animations do appear in the leaked footages and screenshots of the Moana Play Set. Her icon and Skill-Tree render does exist in the files, along with the .LUA & .DNAX files for her, though unfinished.

MOA_Beautiful_Corner_Cove is an unused map, which looks pretty finished. Not only that, the geometry for it has proper collision (on areas that the player can normally walk around in), and the rope that exists in the map functions.

Missing Playsets#

To do:
Perhaps take screenshots of some of these Play Sets? (if there's anything of note in them)

It is possible to access some areas of these playsets, however, many of them are unfinished for the most part. Attempting to play many of these will be impossible without some sort of console control, most likely due to some of them not having their respective figures implemented.

Finding Dory#

The Gold Edition contains an early version of the playset, based off of the animated film Finding Dory. Due to the Dory and Nemo figures not being implemented, however, it is impossible to move freely without a console control.

Marvel Battlegrounds#

The Gold Edition contains an early version of the playset.

Moana Play Set#

This playset, based off of the animated movie Moana, is quite interesting, because in the Gold Edition, data of this unused playset still exists, and even some maps that assets of a very early stage in its development. It is possible to access these areas, but it is necessary to load them as a toybox to view them. There are plenty more data for it in the Wii U port, however.

PSZ (Rogue One)#

Please elaborate.
Having more detail is always a good thing.
Specifically: Is the content listed used in the final game or are they still unused?

This playset, based on Star Wars: Rogue One, is quite unfinished, but unlike the Moana playset, there is a lot more content that was kept in the Gold Edition, such as maps, assets, and vehicles.
