Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey

This article has a talk page!
view on tcrf.net

To do:

  • Dummy and placeholder demons (I say placeholder because they appear to correspond with all the demons (and humans) that you talk to out of battle), with corresponding sources. There's also a bunch of unused and dummy items.
  • Certain out of bounds spots have designated events to give you items for testing purposes.

Go on a Strange Journey to Antarctica and attempt to save the world from the Schwarzwelt.

Demon Negotiation Debug Menu#

This debug menu can be enabled by pressing L + Start during a battle, and then entering the demon chat menu option. Additionally, the menu can be disabled by pressing R + Start. The menu seems to only be accessible in the Japanese release of Strange Journey.

The following Action Replay code will make the menu accessible through the L + Start button combo:

Special Control Mode

Normal Mode: It gives out certain text about the CHK data and shows the demon ID. The demon will always give you an item and the battle will automatically end after showing the Demon ID.

Message Check Mode: This shows all options about the demon reactions when contacted. However when you select a option, it loops the text forever, hence a softlock.

Voice Check: Plays the voices of the demon that the player contacts.

Special Control Mode: Offers three options. However picking any of them immediately ends the battle.

Anti-Piracy Features#

To do:
Getting some footage of this happening would be nice, just don't actually pirate the game

This game utilizes the DS Protect anti-piracy library to ensure that it is not being run off a flashcart or emulator. If any of the DS Protect checks fail, no random encounters will be found when exploring. Additionally, the game's save data will be corrupted when saving and the game will crash at random points.
