Internal Names#
The game is referred to as Project Zeus throughout the files. One example is in Targeting.txt, found in \ABILITIES\ITEMS:
ability_start "ProjectZeusTargeting"
Content related to Year 2 DLC of the game are instead codenamed Opus.
Documentation#
Some of the game's text files have a comment with a URL to an internal wiki page on that mechanic of the game:

Lord Vortech#
Lord Vortech was planned as the final character for Year 2, but despite being teased in an interview with game director Jimmy McLoughlin was never fully added to the game, however there is leftover data in the game.
like most characters, he would have complete lines for certain actions, however in the files shown, he can only interact with Year 1 Characters & Vehicles. There's also suggestions of X-PO as a vehicle.

The Flash#
A character icon and textures of The Flash, specifically of his appearance in the first season of his CW/Arrowverse show, is stored alongside Year 2 characters. The CW Flash is seen as an NPC in the STAR Labs secret area in the level Demiguise Double-Cross.
Removed NPC Characters#
|
|
To do:
|
Barney Gumble#
The game contains a UI icon for Barney Gumble from The Simpsons, likely planned as an NPC for the Simpsons Adventure World.
Fact Core#
The Fact Core from Portal 2 has a UI icon as well.
Team Chaotix#
The game contains graphical assets for Espio the Chameleon, Charmy Bee, and Vector the Crocodile, hinting that they were once meant to be part of the Sonic level pack and/or Dimension.
Skylor#
Skylor from Ninjago has a model and textures present, unlike some of the following characters they appear to be original.
Ron Weasley#
The curiously absent Ron Weasley has a model and textures present, however they're leftovers from LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7.
Vitruvius#
Like Skylor and Ron, Vitruvius from The LEGO Movie has a model and textures. They are taken from The LEGO Movie Videogame. The only acknowledgment of Vitruvius in Dimensions is his staff being present on the portal to the The LEGO Movie dimension.
Platform Differences#
- The game renders at 1080p on PS4/Xbox One, and 720p on PS3/X360/Wii U.
- Supergirl only has an entry in the Characters menu in the PS3 and PS4 versions. Despite this, she's fully coded and playable in the non-PlayStation versions.
- Dinosaurs in the Jurassic World dimension are absent in the PS3/X360/Wii U version.
- The Shard is accessed through a portal on Vorton in the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii U versions. On the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions, it's replaced with a springboard that launches the player to said location.
- This is due to The Shard actually being rendered as a 3D model in the distance on PS4/Xbox One. It's a distant flat texture on the PS3/X360/Wii U version, and as such, the location itself appears to have been split off into an entirely separate room.
- Character models have a lower polygonal count on the PS3/X360/Wii U version, especially during gameplay.
- As with the other TT LEGO games of the era, the PS4/Xbox One version uses the DX11 version of the Nu2 engine, and as such, has additional post-processing effects such as screen-space ambient occlusion. The PS3/X360/Wii U version uses the NXG version, which lacks the additional effects.
- Character icons in the HUD use the render-to-texture models method on all versions. However, on the PS3/X360/Wii U version, they are only used on the actual levels, as the free-roam dimensions and Vorton opt for a still image. The PS4/Xbox One version uses the render-to-texture icons in all instances.
- Some voice lines are in a somewhat lower sample rate in the PS3/X360/Wii U version.
- Like the other LEGO games on the platform (barring LEGO City Undercover), the Wii U version has an extra option for multiplayer, where Player 1's viewport is on the gamepad, and Player 2's is on the TV.
- The PlayStation 3 version of the game has an 11.6GB dummy file named "PAD.DAT".
