Dance Dance Revolution 3rdMIX (PlayStation)

The PlayStation release of Dance Dance Revolution 3rdMIX is known for having the then-largest songlist of any home release to date, as well as having many memorable originals.
It also allowed the player to perform disc swapping with previous titles.

Unused Songs#

When comparing the songlists of the original Arcade release to this port, it is notable that three of the new songs are absent: the licenses FOLLOW THE SUN (90 IN THE SHADE MIX), IT ONLY TAKES A MINUTE (Extended Remix) and XANADU.
However, all three have their backgrounds, stepcharts, background animation data, and Records Menu banners left unused in the data, as well as practically intact songlist coding.
Note that the stepchart data is normally compressed under Bemani-LZ, and, unlike most PlayStation releases, is in .cms format, which was used in the arcade DDR games from 2ndMIX to 3rdMIX PLUS.

Lyrics (from Background animation file)

J.Bolton/J.Foster
J.Time
Follow the sun
Leaving the rain behind
Togehter we'll be
in harmony
Taking the time
we will find our way
Sunshine,
I feel the energy
I need sunshine pouring down
on me now
don't you hide away
I want sunshine,
                                                        each and every day

IT ONLY TAKES A MINUTE (Extended Remix)#

Lyrics (from Background animation file)

D.Lambert/B.Potter
It only takes a minute girl
To fall in love
to fall in love
Let's fall in love
What's an hour of the day
We throw at least one away
Walk the streets half year
Trying to find a new career
Now if you get a flu attack
For thirty days
you are on your back
Through the night
I send you debts
Baby give me half a chance

XANADU#

Lyrics (from Background animation file)

Jeff Lynne
A place
  Where nobody dared to go
The love that we came to know
  They call it Xanadu
 And now
 Open your eyes and see
What we have made is real
We are in Xanadu
An everlasting love
And you're here with me
Eternally
Xanadu
#_3_Now we are here
In Xanadu
Now that I'm here
Now that you're near
  in Xanadu
            Xanadu
