Dancing Stage featuring True Kiss Destination (Arcade)

The start of a strange spin-off series for Dance Dance Revolution (which for some reason used the then European title for the series, Dancing Stage), which focused on a specific theme. For this first installment, the song list was mainly composed of songs by J-pop group True Kiss Destination, although two Konami originals also appeared.

Unused Graphics#

Blank Slot#

Among the graphics used for the numbers in the game, there are many slots that are filled with "blank" text.

Song Select#

In the Song Selection screen, labels which display the modifiers used in the session are seen. These include labels of default settings and of not displayed/completely unused or early difficulties/modes. All of the graphics use the red palette for consistency.

Blank#

There is also a slot with no text, likely a placeholder.

Unused Song#

Stored on the game's disc are actually two versions of the song "PURE MIND", one of which goes unused. The version used in the game is a new faster remix of the song, labelled internally as "PURE MIND 120", while the original version of the song goes unused. It can be found as track 13 on the disc (with track 12 used for the song's preview on the song select screen).

The game's database also has two missing song IDs, 3 and 9. While one of these was presumably meant for the original PURE MIND, it's unknown what the other slot was intended to be.

Build Date#

At the very beginning and end of the file GN884JA.BIN, the game's main asset repository, a build date and time can be found. Although the date is displayed when the game boots, the time is not.
