This game is still under active development. |
Now you're playing with power... super power... online!
Much like its Famicom and NES counterpart, this Switch Online-exclusive app provides players with a collection of Super Famicom and Super NES games powered by the Super Famicom Mini/SNES Classic Edition's "Canoe" emulator.
Easter Egg#
SFC/SNES Controller Menu#
|
|
This page or section needs more images. |
Whenever a Super Famicom or SNES Switch controller is used, the main menu's color (matching the color of the SFC/SNES controller) and sound effects (from Super Mario World) will change. An icon of the controller will also appear next to the profile icon.
Debugging Content#
The Lua scripts mention a Debug Menu, debug info printing, debug info tracing, debug saving, and debug store.
SNES Mouse Support#
The new file format for SNES ROMs uses a footer with metadata with a Game Preset ID and other things.
The emulator enables the SNES Mouse if:
- Setting 0x6D is present in the footer and is set to 1.
- The Game Preset ID setting is set to 0x11A0, 0x11A2 or 0x11A3.
On July 28, 2025, support for emulated SNES Mouse controls have been properly implemented alongside the release of Mario Paint on the service.
Regional Differences#
The app is called Super Famicom - Nintendo Classics in Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan, even though Hong Kong was the only region that had official releases of both the Super Famicom and European SNES. Naturally, the international version of the app is called Super Nintendo Entertainment System - Nintendo Classics.

Oddities#
For the Nintendo Classics release of Bubsy in Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind, minor modifications were made to the international and Japanese covers. Specifically, the Atari logo (the current licensee of the Bubsy games) was added to the cover design (a red logo on a white background for the international cover and a white logo on a red background for the Japanese cover, both within a square).
Additionally, on the international cover, the Accolade logo (the game's original developer and publisher) was moved almost flush with the general logo of the Super Nintendo games to accommodate the Atari logo.
