Fatal Fury Special (SNES)

This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion.
Are you a bad enough dude to rescue this article?

A port of the arcade version of the same name.

Unlike the first two titles, this one was developed by Monolith and it's even more impressive than Nova's port of the second title.

Censorship#

Just like the SNES port of Fatal Fury 2, the international versions of Special edit a few details of two characters:

  • Mai's thong was made bigger and her breasts don't bounce in her "Nippon Ichi!" victory pose.
  • Laurence Blood's last name is shortened to just "B.". His "Bloody Spin" voice clip was kept this time though.

Playable Characters#

Europe

The Japanese and US versions were released on 32 megabit cartridges and feature all the 15 playable characters plus Ryo Sakazaki from the Art of Fighting series, who is playable via a cheat code. The PAL version, however, was released on a 24 megabit cartridge; as a result, Big Bear, Cheng Sinzan, Axel Hawk, and Laurence Blood had to be removed along with their respective stages, with Ryo being playable from the start in exchange.

Specifically: This thread by GSK suggests there's other revisions / changes on both SNES and NSO?

The Nintendo Switch Online rerelease removes the Dolby Surround logo on the title screen and the Surround sound option in the Options Menu.
