Much like its other console counterparts under the Nintendo Classics name, Virtual Boy - Nintendo Classics features an expansive collection of Virtual Boy titles. To play the games in 3D, the app requires the use of a dedicated accessory modeled after the console (available in both plastic and cardboard models) or the Nintendo Labo Toy-Con VR goggles that you probably only used once.

App Features#

Version 1.3.0, released on August 4, 2026, added the following features:

  • The color of the game screen can be changed to any one of the following colors: gray, green, blue, cyan, magenta, yellow, Game Boy style (full-screen green), Game Boy Pocket style (full-screen grayscale), Game Boy Color style (cool color scheme) and Super Game Boy style (warm color scheme). This can be changed in the menu that is accessed by pressing and holding the right stick.
  • The text color of the app interface can be changed from either red or white in the settings menu.

Both of these features, when enabled, require the removal of the lens cover on the Virtual Boy accessory.
