Easter Egg#

N64 Switch Controller Menu#

Normal	Nintendo 64 Controller

Whenever a Nintendo 64 Nintendo Switch controller is used, instead of the usual sounds and interface, the menu's color turns gray to match with the N64 controller's primary color complete with sound effects from Super Mario 64. The profile icon also adds in the N64 Switch controller on the right.

Regional Differences#

Game Versions#

By default, the European and Australian versions of the app display the North American versions of games. A toggle is present in the Settings menu to also make the European versions of most games visible and selectable, for multiple-language support at the cost of running at a lower framerate (50hz).

There are a handful of games that are (as of 10/28/2024) only available in certain regions.

Revisional Differences#

This page or section needs more images. There's a whole lotta words here, but not enough pictures. Please fix this. Specifically: Capture screenshots of the updated Nintendo Classics branding

Mature App#

Standard	Mature 17+ (Americas)	Mature (EU/AU)
18+ (JP/HK/TW)	Classificação Indicativa: 18 Anos (BR)	19+ (KR)

The Japanese version of the app received an alternate "18+" release due to complications with adding GoldenEye 007 and Jet Force Gemini to the service in that region (namely the presence of relatively realistic violence). Since both games are averagely rated 13+ (or its regional equivalents) internationally, this wasn't necessary elsewhere and the games were released directly onto the standard app.

The app would release internationally with the release of Turok: Dinosaur Hunter and Perfect Dark on the service with the North American version of the app being branded to "Mature 17+" to match with the ESRB's "M" rating (and its equivalent in Mexico), the Brazilian version matching with the "18" rating used by Brazilian authorities, the European/Australian version of the app being branded to simply "Mature" to match the equivalents used by PEGI, USK, GCAM, MRO, FPB, and the ACB respectively, and the Korean version of the app matching with the "19" rating used by the GRAC.

App Changes#

• An update released on June 5, 2025 added the ability to to view and/or change button controls in each game. The Nintendo Classics branding was also introduced to the app.

• Version 4.2.0, released on June 3, 2026, added a marker to identify North American games in the game selection menu; this only appears if the Playable Titles setting is set to "Both NA and European versions".

Nintendo Switch 2 Exclusive Features#

The June 5, 2025 update introduced two features only available when played on the Nintendo Switch 2:

• An option for a CRT filter was added in the settings menu, which emulates the look of playing on an old CRT television.

• The ability to rewind gameplay by pressing the - button was also added.
