Several Nintendo Switch applications were leaked in April 2022. Included in these leaks were development builds of a Game Boy emulator named hiyoko developed by Nintendo European Research & Development (NERD). Each build contained a different Game Boy game.¹

• Different versions of the applications of these games play in portrait mode (V2 for the left side and V3 for the right side), these notably feature touch controls on the bottom of the game screen. The released NSO application does not feature this control scheme.
• The emulator can specify "machine-type" to emulate specific Game Boy systems. This includes dmg for the original Game Boy, mgb for Game Boy Pocket, sgb for Super Game Boy, cgb for Game Boy Color, agb for Game Boy Advance, and ags for Game Boy Advance SP.
• Rollback netplay code is present.
