While unused in the base game, later revisions (especially those that came out after the release of the Hot Date expansion pack) brought these animations back to life.

The adult versions of these animations were used in the Steering Committee prototype. These animations were purposed for the "Talk" interaction, but in the final product they're only used by adult Sims when they practice speeches next to mirrors. For that reason, all the adult-to-child (and child) renditions of these animations1 (pictured above) went unused.

Footnotes#

  1. The adult-to-child animations (and vice versa) won't significantly differ from the adult-to-adult ones, except for the fact that the characters' head meshes are slightly turned to a certain amount so the adult Sim can face the child. Rare exceptions include the hugging animation.↩︎
