This is a sub-page of The Sims (Windows)/Unused Animations.
Two character animations expressive of each one of the 8 Sim motives exist — but, for some reason, there is a recurring problem where one is used, while what remains is always ignored. It's unknown if it was a deliberate decision, or something overlooked in design.
Stress#

|
A Sim complains about their low (or high?) levels of stress. The "Stress" motive was scrapped very early in development, though the final build still contains a number of remnant resources, including global strings, graphics and code.
Smelly#
25 June 1999 19ː09
![]() |
|
Alternate low "Hygiene" animation.
Sleepy#
25 June 1999 19ː06
![]() |
|
Alternate low "Energy" animation.
Full Bladder#
25 June 1999 19ː06
![]() |
![]() |
|
|
Alternate low "Bladder" animations. Has a "start" id, which is odd for motive-related animations, since they are not designed to loop.
Lethargic#
25 June 1999 18ː59
![]() |
|
In spite of the fact that "Lethargy" is not a term associated with any of the character motives (nor it is referenced in the game), it might be an early designation for the negative condition of the Energy motive.
Hungry#

![]() |
|
|
Alternate low "Hunger" animations.
Satisfied#
25 June 1999 19ː09
![]() |
|
Alternate high "Hunger" animation.
Bored#
25 June 1999 19ː07
![]() |
|
Alternate low "Fun" animation. It is very similar to the used "a2o-consider" (normally called for when Sims think about something before reacting), except the arms clip within the character's body (suggesting that it was designed for earlier character body meshes).
Lonely#
25 June 1999 19ː09
![]() |
|
Alternate low "Social". The other (used) keyframe, "a2o-lonely2.cmx", is less generic: the Sim sobs in tears.
Comfortable#
