To do: Get IDs for models in headers. |
This page covers the models found in ps3.cpk/model/items. All of the models from it9000_000.GMD onward were replaced with fishing tags in the final game for some reason.
GFS Files#
There are two models in this folder that are GFS files rather than GMD files like the rest of the files in the folder. They seem to just be models the developers forgot to delete, as GMD variants of the models are also there.
Placeholder Sign (it0316_001.GFS)#
it0316_001.GFS is a basic untextured sign, which is a placeholder for the sign Joker holds during Yoshida's speeches. The GMD variant is identical to the final version.

NPC Hair#
it1532_001.GFS is just some brown hair for NPC models to use. Not shown due to being identical to the final model
Completely Unused Models#
Models that were completely removed from the final.
iPhone 4 Models#
it9006_000.GMD, it9021_000.GMD, it9028_000.GMD and it9300_000.GMD are all iPhone 4 models. They were likely placeholders for the phones used in the final game. Their textures all use the same image of a real iPhone 4. Due to all the models themselves being identical and the only differences being on the screen, the rest of the models will only have their textures shown.
Coca Cola Zero (it0147_001.GMD)#
A Coca Cola Zero model.
Flip Phone (it496_000.GMD)#
A flip phone model, possibly a Persona 4 Golden leftover.
P4G Gray School Bag (it2014_001.GMD)#
A gray school bag, leftover from Persona 4 Golden.
Hablerie(it9000_000.GMD)#
Still unused from the final, is a model of Lying Hablerie in a different ID name.
P4G School Bag (it9002_000.GMD)#
A model of a school bag from Persona 4 Golden.
Basic Mission Text#
t9018_000.GMD, it9019_000, and it9018_000.GMD have text saying, "Mission Fail". It only has one animation of the text shooting back after a few moments. There also are a few other textures in here that are hidden seen in all three of these:
Title_02.DDS#
Has text that says:
- Mission Start
- Mission Fail
- Mission Complete
- Mission Revenge
Translates to:
"Infiltration!
The Forbidden Volleyball Clubroom?
Operation Kamoshida Medal Capture!
Operation Lust-Reduction Love Letter!"
- it9018_000
Just a black square graphic.
- it9019_000
Has Joker and Ryuji in an unfinished looking room in the school.
- Joker and Ryuji models appear to look like their early models seen in the model/object folder
- The protagonist idle appears to be the same seen in developer footage
- Has a mac cursor in the middle of the image.
- it9020_000
Shows the outside of a room seen in the school.
it9006_000.GMD#
The first iPhone 4 model. For some reason, the texture on the back is flipped. This is true for all the models.

- it9021_000.GMD
The second one has a ton of additional textures with placeholder text for the Metaverse Navigator.

- it9028_000.GMD it9300_000.GMD
These ones both have the same texture, this time just an image made to cover the screen instead of an edit of the full texture. The texture is called movie_tex_obj0, potentially meaning it's a placeholder for the videos that are sometimes displayed on phones like the eye when Joker and Ryuji go back to Kamoshida's Palace a second time.
it9017_000.GMD#
A low-res love letter. It says "To Kamoshida-sensei".
it9027_000.GMD#
A model that shows news on a train. Notably it uses some textures from Persona 4 Arena Ultimax.

Kamoshida guards standing? (it9032_000.GMD)#
A model of four Kamoshida guards standing next to each other. It's interesting to note that the mask design uses a P4G texture seen unused in the final game.
Kamoshida Guards Floating? (it9033_000.GMD)#
Four Kamoshida guards floating upwards. Still uses a texture from Persona 4.
McDonalds Fries (it9043_000.GMD)#
A model for McDonalds Fries.
Early Cut-ins#
it9996_000.GMD, it9996_001.GMD and it9996_002.GMD are 3 early cut-ins, one for Ann and two for Ryuji. Unfortunately, they lack any animations (except 002, though it doesn't play properly), but they seem to resemble the early paper-rip cut-in style seen in the game's reveal trailer (although these seem to be even older). In the final game, the cut-in models are in their own folder, and they get the character portraits for them from a separate folder rather than baking them into the model. 000's and 002's do get used in the unused event e171_001_yamaguchi05, an earlier version of the PV01 Walkway Cutscene, though it's unknown how their animations work in-game, since they play as intended during the cutscene. Ryuji is also named as Reiji Niyari in the textures, and Ann is named as An Odoroki.

Player House (it9151_000.GMD)#
Concept art of a house shown in the Persona 5 artbook. The texture name is player house, meaning we could have seen Joker's house before he got arrested.
Black Hallway? (it9999_001.GMD)#
Appears to be a hallway with a square opening, most likely was used in PV03.
