Unused Graphics#

res2.dat is where all the game's main data is stored.

An early and primitive version of the game's logo.

Backgrounds#

Three screencaps of a developer's screen, all three with windows open looking at background art from the episodes The Camping Episode and Club SpongeBob. In these screenshots, we can see:

  • They are browsing images stored on 166.77.8.32 which is registered to Viacom.
  • Running ArtGem, a program similar to Adobe Photoshop.
  • Running WordPerfect, a word processor.
  • Running Blitz3D, a programming language designed for games.
  • Running Outlook Express.

Unused Text#

Once again in res2.dat, there are unused levels, one of which with following header:

Stinky & Loof Level File v5
Untitled Level

All levels use this header format.

Unused Levels#

Jellyfish Tango - LATER1#

In the Phosphor Caves area of the game, the level Jellyfish Tango does exist. The developers left in the game an alternate version of the level that uses the wrong Level Context resulting in it using the textures for Bikini Bottom instead.

Untitled level - TEST#

This level was used by developers to test the pushing mechanics for icicles and the mechanics for frogfish.

  • The pink and orange tiles are frogfish spawnpoints for Patrick and SpongeBob respectively.
  • The level is not symmetrical, likely a developer mistake.
  • The light blue tiles are the icicles found in Phosphor Caves
  • The Level Context setting for this level is incorrect, resulting in Bikini Bottom textures being displayed.
  • There are no Krabby Patties or Bonus Bubbles to collect on this map, resulting in it being entirely unbeatable.
