SimCity: Enhanced CD-ROM (DOS)

An enhanced version of SimCity with movies and voice clips of your advisors nagging you.

Debug Output#

Setting an environment variable called _DEBUG will enable output of debugging messages and real-time variables. The value of _DEBUG changes where it's output to:

• 1: Sets output to a 2nd MDA (text-only) monitor
• 2: Sets output to a 2nd CGA monitor
• 3: Same as 1
• 4,,: Sets output to an 8N1 serial port
• 5,: Sets output to file (defaults to debug.out if unset)
• 6: Sets output to an internal buffer (never read back out elsewhere)

Video Player#

Setting an environment variable called KWD to 1 and pressing Alt + V will show only possible because of KWD= ("KWD" being the intials of programmer Kirt W. Dekker) in the top-left. Entering the name of any video file in the game will make it start playing in the middle of the screen.
