Wii Chess

This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion.
Are you a bad enough dude to rescue this article?

Wii Chess is a rather odd entry in the Wii series (at least in Europe) where you play... well, chess. The game was only released in Japan and Europe, with the physical release being European-exclusive for some reason. Despite the game lacking in both Miis and motion controls (yes, really), it's generally considered to be a surprisingly good game.

When the game reached Japan on WiiWare after an almost year long wait, Nintendo decided to axe the Wii branding, with the game now going by Tsuushin Taikyoku: World Chess (lit. Communication Game: World Chess), emphasizing the online functionality. Two sequels, Tsuushin Taikyoku: Igo Doujou 2700-Mon and Tsuushin Taikyoku: Hayazashi Shogi Sandan, would be released with this same branding as WiiWare exclusively in Japan.
