Wii Sports + Wii Sports Resort

Wii Sports + Wii Sports Resort is exactly what it says on the tin: Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort crammed onto one disc. For content in the games themselves, see their respective pages.

Build Dates#

The following files, all of which are empty, are present in both regions of the game in the root directory:

COPYDATE_CODE
COPYDATE_DATA
COPYDATE_LAST
REV_INFO_r384

The first three of these files have similarly named duplicates, although they are appended with different times.

North America

Europe

Leftover Assertion#

The function EGG::ExpHeap::alloc (stored at 0x80106e90 in both regions) contains an assertion leftover from the debugging process. If the function pointed to an invalid heap, the game would halt with an OSPanic message pointing to line 191 in the file eggExpHeap.cpp, alongside the message:

DAME DAME

"Dame" is Japanese for "bad/wrong" or "no good".

Regional Differences#

The North American version of the game contains a message associated with the Wii Sports button that displays if the system language is set to French or Spanish, warning the player that the game is only available in English. This message is not present in the European version. In addition, the position of the trademark for Wii Sports Resort is switched depending on the version.

Europe (French)

Unused Text#

The aforementioned message exists in the North American English message file (US\Message\Message_EngUS.arc\Doubles_Launch_EngUS.bmg) in message ID 0002, simply reading:

English only

This is never displayed in game, likely as it would be irrelevant to an English-speaking player.

Internal Project Name#

As indicated by several files, the internal project name for the game is "Doubles."
