O'Hanrahan#
Dialogue exists in this build for a speech check with O'Hanrahan. In the final, O'Hanrahan's route involves passing speech checks with the other Misfits in order to convince them to work together. As O'Hanarahan assigns this task to the player, he himself does not have a speech check. At this point in development, O'Hanrahan did not have his own route; and the task to convince the Misfits to work together was assigned by Mags instead:
After this, O'hanrahan would agree to work with the squad:

A big strong guy like you should protect people. Sometimes that means fighting. |
|
O'Hanrahan |
I guess maybe you're right. Okay. I'll try. |
00104F50 |
A number of unused topics to report back on the player's success or failure. While it doesn't look like O'Hanrahan had his own route yet, it seems the player could at least discuss either improving or cheating with him:
- OHanrahanFakeUp 1-3
- OHanrahanShapeup 1-3
Razz#
Like O'Hanrahan, Razz has a number of unused of topics to report back on the player's progress with having the mission cancelled:
- RazzFakeUp 1-3
- RazzShapeUp 1-3
Mags#
Mags has a sizeable number of unused voice lines that allude to the early version of the quest. By the time of this build, however, it seems the early version of this quest was abandoned and was actively being changed to the final version; for this reason many voice lines related to the early scenario have already been removed. Fortunately, some of these missing voice lines have been preserved in memory dumps from earlier builds of the game, and these dialogue responses can be used to understand how the early version of the quest would have proceeded.
This is the dialogue used to start Mags' route of the quest, the responses are from a January the 4th build:

Tell me about it. What the hell are we gonna do? |

Dammit! I can't believe this. I'm not going to die for these clowns! |

At this point in development, the player would need to convince the Misfits to work together before they could attempt the rifle and grenade range courses. These voice lines are from a build dated January the 4th.

Mags |
Poindexter's an arrogant prick, Razz doesn't respect anybody who wasn't a gangbanger, and O'Hanrahan won't even pick up a rifle. They're hopeless. |
001058F6 |

Player |
I'll talk to them. |

Okay, well, good luck with that. |

Mags' speech check about leadership still exists in this version of the build, and could be passed as an alternative to speaking with the other Misfits individually:

The player could also discuss Poindexter's route with Mags as well:
Speaker |
Dialogue |

Player |
Don't panic, I can help with this. |
|
Mags |
You can? How are you going to do that? |
001058FB |
Player |
Easy. I'm going to cheat. |
|
Mags |
Seriously? I don't even know how you'd do that. Maybe talk to Poindexter. |
00105902 |
These lines are for reporting back, unfortunately all seem to lack responses:
Speaker |
Dialogue |
Form ID |
|---|---|---|
Player |
Afraid not. I think maybe it would be easier to just cheat. |
|
Player |
So, did you get your report back from the "shooting practice? |
|
Player |
I think you'll find your orders have mysteriously changed. |
|
Player |
Yeah, I pretty much mean I'll help you cheat. |
|
This dialogue seems to be for introducing the cut task where the player would delete the Misfits' mission orders:
Speaker |
Dialogue |
Form ID |
|---|---|---|
Player |
I've got bad news - it looks like McCredie's still planning to send you out. |
|
Player |
Are you sure there's nothing I can do to help? |
|
Mags |
I doubt it. Poindexter might have an idea for some kind of last-minute scheme. You should talk to him. |
00107754 |
Some miscellaneous dialogue recovered from this build related to the cut scenario:
Speaker |
Dialogue |
Form ID |
|---|---|---|
Player |
I don't, sorry. |
|
Mags |
Oh, okay. Just thought I'd ask. |
0010849B |
Player |
Still working on it, but I wanted to ask you something else. |
|
Mags |
What is it? |
001058F0 |
Player |
Well, tough luck. I tried. Enjoy dying. |
|
Mags |
Yeah, great. Thanks. |
001058F4 |
Player |
Yeah, you're screwed. Look, I've got some questions. |
|
Mags |
What? |
001058F3 |
An unused skill check of sorts for Mags. In the final, the player needs to pass the rifle range to proceed onto the grenade course. In this version of the quest, the player could've passed a skill check to move onto the grenade course if they failed the rifle range:
Speaker |
Dialogue |
Form ID |
|---|---|---|
Player |
Don't worry, I'm *way* better with grenades than I am with guns. |
|
Mags |
Okay, if you say so, Hell, it's not like we've got a lot to lose here. |
00106D6F |
Player |
Guns might not be my forte, but I've got a knack for bombs. Trust me. |
|
Player |
No, I'm serious. I'll help you improve on the grenade course. |
|
Some unused player lines. Here the player would suggest deserting. For the other dialogue on this page, responses existed at one point, but have not been recovered. For this dialogue specifically, responses don't seem to have ever been implemented:
Speaker |
Dialogue |

Player |
Then you might want to think about deserting. Just a thought. |
Player |
You could desert. |
Another unused player line for reporting back:

Good news - Sgt. McCredie's canceled the combat patrol. |

Poindexter#
A dialogue exchange where Poindexter refers to a cache at Camp Golf placed in case of an emergency. This would've followed the first line included below, but a response to that line has not been recovered, meaning it's not known what would've prompted Poindexter to share this information with the player:
Speaker |
Dialogue |
Form ID |
|---|---|---|
Player |
Anything to share about Camp Golf? |
|
Poindexter |
- |
00104F4E |
Player |
What are you talking about? |
|
Poindexter |
In case of a surprise attack, the commander buried a huge cache of weapons. Power armor, explosives, you name it go look around, you'll find it. |
00104F40 |
This is the dialogue that would've originally been used to start his route of the quest. Interestingly his dialogue is identical to the final game; the developers simply altered the player lines to mask the original context of the quest:
Speaker |
Dialogue |
Form ID |
|---|---|---|
Player |
Sgt. McCredie is sending your squad on a suicide mission if you don't shape up. |
|
Poindexter |
That seems highly illogical. What reason would he have foredoing that? |
001058FC |
Player |
He thinks it will get you to act like soldiers. |
|
Poindexter |
This is an unexpected variable. Damn, I should have planned for this. |
001058FE |
Mags' route of the quest could be discussed with Poindexter as well:
Speaker |
Dialogue |
Form ID |
|---|---|---|
Player |
I can drill your squad on proper small-unit tactics and survival. |
|
Poindexter |
I see, I would suggest you talk to Mags about that. She's the most soldierly out of all of us. |
001058FA |
Player |
I meant actually help you learn to throw grenades. |
|
Poindexter |
Oh, I see. As inefficient as that sounds, you should perhaps talk to mags about that. |
00107756 |
Further dialogue to discuss legitimate improvements with Poindexter. A response for this has not been recovered, only a player line:
Speaker |
Dialogue |
|---|---|
Player |
Based on your performance, McCredie's cancelled the mission. |
The original dialogue to assign his task to the player. This version of the dialogue mentions only one terminal; it seems the other was for the cut stage of the quest to delete the squad's mission orders entirely:
Speaker |
Dialogue |
Form ID |
|---|---|---|
Player |
It occurs to me that I might cheat. |
|
Poindexter |
Hmm... an intriguing proposition. Company readiness reports are logged on the computer systems at the Resort. |
001058F2 |
Poindexter |
If you can hack into the system, you might be able to alter our records. Cleverly done! |
001058F2 |
Player |
I can help with that, too. |
|
Poindexter |
Ideal. The computer system containing the evaluation records is in a back office, at the resort. If you hack in, you can alter the scores. |
0010774B |
Player |
I'm on it. |
|
Poindexter |
Excellent. I look forward to hearing of your success. |
0010774E |
This dialogue is for introducing the unused stage of the quest where the player deletes the mission orders:
Speaker |
Dialogue |
Form ID |
|---|---|---|
Player |
I'll do it. How hard can it be? |
|
Poindexter |
Possibly harder than you think. This is a separate system from the evaluation scoring system, and it's much more heavily secured. |
00107749 |
Player |
Guess I won't get caught, then. |
|
Poindexter |
That would be advisable. |
00107762 |
Player |
Too risky for me - you're on your own. |
|
Poindexter |
I should have suspected you'd cut and run from the difficult tasks. Very well, on the very slim chance we survive, I will speak to you later. |
0010774A |
Some unused player only lines:
Speaker |
Dialogue |
|---|---|
Player |
Mags said you might know how to alter your squad's readiness reports. |
Player |
I'm qafraid McCredie hasn't canceled that mission yet. |
Player |
Do you think the rifle range results will get McCredie off your back? |
Player |
Nobody suspected anything - you're in the clear. |

Sgt McCredie#

It sounds like you've got a plan. |
|
McCredie |
Let's just say their next combat patrol might be a *lot* hotter than they expect if I don't see some improvement soon. |
00105904 |
After speaking with the Misfits and attempting either the improvement or cheating routes, the player could return to McCredie in an attempt to get the mission cancelled:

Filename |
Dialogue |
|---|---|---|
Player |
Maybe you should rethink that patrol. It'd be a shame to waste that potential. |
|
McCredie |
I suppose you've got a good point. I'll cancel the combat patrol. See, if we can't motivate them to keep on improving. |
0010774C |
Player |
Maybe you should rethink that patrol. It'd be a shame to waste that potential. |
|
McCredie |
I don't think so it's not anywhere near enough improvement, no, they're going out, and they're coming back soldiers. Or not at all. |
0010774D |
Player |
So, they're not getting sent off on a sure to be suicidal patrol, then? |
|
McCredie |
At this point, that would be a waste of a fine bunch of soldiers. No, I'll be holding onto them. What can I do for you? |
00107755 |
Player |
So, you're still planning on sending them out? |
|
McCredie |
That's right. They're coming back as soldiers or not at all. |
00107757 |
Dialogue for McCredie to react to the Misfits' evaluation course attempts. These are greetings, so don't have accompanying player lines:

Looks like the rifle range test results were a fluke. The misfits are back to their old screw ups. I guess they're showing a little promise, at least. |

McCredie |
After that piss poor performance on the shooting range the misfits are finally showing some promise. |
00107760 |

I have to say I'm impressed, the misfits have really turned it around. Maybe that's your doing, maybe not. Either way, I'm glad to see it. |
0010775e |
Rifle Range +, Grenade Range + |
It's not known under what conditions the following would trigger, but it's possible the first is for a poor shooting range performance with the grenade course not yet attempted, while the later is for a poor result on both:

Hoo boy, you should *see* the results from the Misfits on their shooting range drills. I've seen blind brahmin shoot better. |
001068c4 |
McCredie |
God damn, these test results are a joke. That's it, if the misfits aren't going to take their training seriously they're going to learn the hard way. |
