The Sims 2 - Needs Translation - Batch16 For Create a Neighborhood |
When creating a neighborhood the player would have been able to assign an aspiration to it like they would a sim. It is unknown how this would have affected gameplay, if at all as these are the only remains of such a feature left in the game.

Sims from far and wide are flocking to the new neighborhood to fill a variety of positions, some are even lining up just to see what type of community centers you'll build for them to visit. But as eager as they are, this one-time process might still take awhile. Please be sure to save your game once the process completes. |
The Sims 2 - Needs ReTranslation - Batch23 was in Batch20 - pending edits. Appears when creating a new neighborhood while generating Sims. |
Similarly to its predecessor, the game would have displayed a message for the player to read while generating NPCs and townies to populate a neighborhood, the provided translation notes state that this message would have appeared when the player creates a custom neighborhood. It is worth noting that when creating a custom neighborhood however, the game will copy NPCs and townies from Pleasantview, rather than generating new ones.
Although such a message is irrelevant as rather than generating NPCs and townies en masse, the game generates them only when necessary, such as when the player tries to hire a maid, but there are no existing maids to hire.

To do: |
Duplicates of the names and descriptions for Pleasantview, Strangetown, and Veronaville exist within this package, completely identical to their used counterparts, which are located in their individual N00X_Neighborhood.package as Catalogue Descriptions rather than Text Lists.
All neighborhood names, apart from the three mentioned above as well as Waterside, listed with this package are prefixed with z_. The reason for this is unknown.

Don, Sarah, and little Alex settled down in Waterside. Sarah wants a bigger family, but Don still craves the romance of his youth. Can you hold this family together, or will these Sims just grow apart? |
The biography for the Baxter Family, who were featured in the game's E3 2004 Demo. Evidently this may have also doubled as the description for Waterside as a neighborhood. Given that Pleasantview, Strangetown, and Veronaville feature their descriptions in their respective Text Lists. |

Early Lot Names#
Each Lot in game that is made in a given premade Neighborhood has a name associated with it. It's usually is a street address, but on occasion it is an actual name. A unique quirk that only exists with the premade Neighborhoods that are available with the base game, is that for Residential Lots, the Lot's name was copied into the Lot's description field. Something that is only available for Community Lots in the final game, and does not occur with user placed lots. It is also worth noting that there are a scant few Residential lots that exist in the premade Neighborhoods that have an empty description field, suggesting they were either wiped, or were created after this unique quirk was removed.
In the Lot's description is an early name for the Lot, which suggests that the Neighborhoods' layouts were adjusted at some point during their development. These can be observed in the fanmade hacking tool; SimPE, by opening the Lot Description (LTXT) in the Neighborhood's respective package files. All lots with an early variant will be documented below, divided by individual Neighborhood.
