Hidden Sim Data

This is a sub-page of The Sims 2 (Windows).

To do:
There's more, like WAY more.

  • Internal Sim ordering oddities.
  • Sims with hidden sexual orientations.
  • Hidden Lifespan Days/Sign/Interests/Aspiration data in pre-made dead Sims.
    • Should the un-resurrectable ones (that can't be done in later expansions) only be covered?
  • Elder Sims with hidden hair genetics.
  • Dozens of hidden pre-made names of Sims in the Downtown neighborhood from Nightlife.
    • Other languages too.

This article will only cover pre-made Sims.

Unused NPCs#

To do:
NPC robot "talking" when they cannot reach an area oddity.

There are a number of NPCs that otherwise cannot be seen. Most of them govern functions like passing on DNA to alien offspring and making a toy car move (yes really).

Big Boss#

The Big Boss thumbnail found in the Objects/Objects.package file. Big Boss's Helicopter landing and hurting a Sim's ears. A scrapped character of when a Sim in a career invites them to dinner in order to improve their work relationship with them. It would have played out like the "Invite Headmaster" scenario, except the schmoozing part was not needed to win it. Though they technically went unused, there is a Boss NPC which will generate if your Sim calls in sick.

They would've arrived via helicopter at 5 PM, much like how the Headmaster arrives in a normal car at the same time. For some reason, if the NPC is summoned through mods, they would appear as a female Sim with a male voice, or vice versa. Though, the Big Boss cannot be added to the household.

'ideal plantsim'#

The-sims-2-ideal-plantsim.png

Introduced in Seasons, ideal plantsim (sic) is a hidden Sim whose only purpose in the game is to provide genetics towards all PlantSims born via the 'Spawn PlantBaby' option, technically making him the father of all PlantSim children (despite not appearing on their family trees).

NPCSkunkskin#

A cat who has the texture of a skunk, introduced in Pets.

Hidden NPC Biographies#

Grim Reaper#

Unlike other NPC Sims, the Grim Reaper has a strange hidden biography if he is added to a household via debugging cheats. (Warning! This will have a high chance to corrupt your game!)

Education: BA Human Development, University of Hawaii
Favorite Band: Styx
Short Piers: I like it when you take long walks.

Santa Klaus#

Introduced in the Holiday Party Pack or Happy Holiday Stuff, he has a hidden biography.

The Big Man

Hidden Sims#

To do:
There's more, like Sims that cannot be resurrected have hidden data.

Hidden within the Neighborhood package files, a few certain duplicate or unique Sims exist that have a lot of mysteries to them and usually don't ever appear in-game by normal standards. They are all either deceased and have no character data (which makes it impossible to resurrect them without using programs like SimPE to restore their missing character data) or are playable but have some unique buggy properties.

Pleasantview (N001)#

Pleasantview contains three hidden Sims based on pre-made ancestral Sims, Michael Bachelor, Skip Broke and Darleen Dreamer. They all contain some noticeable differences compared to their final counterparts and have no character data and can't be resurrected without modding tools like SimPe.

Michael Bachelor (User00036.package)#

Hidden

Final

  • Aspiration: Popularity
  • Zodiac Sign: Aries
  • Weight: Thin
  • Eye Color: Dark Blue
  • Hair Color: Gray
  • Skin Color: Medium

Inside the files exists a version of Michael Bachelor that is unused in the family tree. Although he appears in one of the Caliente's memories. Strangely as well, he has relationships with several residents and ancestors of Pleasantview. He uses one of the broken face templates as well but it is unknown which as he possesses he has no character data. He also has a different facial structure than his final, dead counterpart. His appearance is also drastically different from his final version, he has a darker skin tone (medium instead of tan), wears a purple and white track suit, and has dark blue eyes instead of light blue.

His zodiac sign and aspiration are also different, the hidden Michael Bachelor's zodiac sign is Aries and has the Popularity aspiration, whereas the resurrectable version has the Leo zodiac sign and the Knowledge aspiration. The hidden Michael also uses an unused character portrait pose that isn't seen in the final game as it was altered to a front facing view that does appear in-game. As seen in SimPe, the hidden Michael was the 36th Sim created in Pleasantview and was made the same time as his parents and distant family, while the final counterpart was the 156th.

Skip Broke (User00019.package)#

Hidden

Final

  • Aspiration: Popularity
  • Zodiac Sign: Aries
  • Weight: Thin
  • Eye Color: Light Blue
  • Hair Color: Blonde
  • Skin Color: Light

The hidden version of Skip Broke has a different eye color than his revivable counterpart (light blue instead of green), wears a lighter T-shirt, appears in the majority of the memories of the Broke family and is the true father of Dustin and Beau based on genetics. While he has the same zodiac sign as his resurrectable counterpart (that being Aries), his aspiration is Popularity instead of Romance. Like with the hidden Michael Bachelor, the hidden Skip Broke uses an unused portrait pose that was altered to a final front facing view during development. Also like with Michael, the hidden Skip Broke was likely made first, being the 19th Sim created the same time as his parents, while the revivable counterpart was the 90th.

Darleen Dreamer (User00016.package)#

Hidden

Final

  • Aspiration: Fortune
  • Zodiac Sign: Gemini
  • Weight: Thin
  • Eye Color: Dark Blue
  • Hair Color: Black
  • Skin Color: Dark

The hidden version of Darleen Dreamer uses a different hairstyle than her final counterpart, which goes unused in the final game and wears a floral sundress. She also has slightly different facial structure compared to her final counterpart. This is the Darleen that appears in the memories of her family and is the true mother to Dirk Dreamer although he does not recognize her as so. The hidden Darleen also has a different aspiration compared to her final version, being Fortune instead of Family. Just like with the hidden Michael Bachelor and the hidden Skip Broke, according to SimPe, the hidden un-resurrectable Darleen was made with the rest of her family and was the 16th Sim created, while the revivable counterpart was the 155th.

Strangetown (N002)#

Strangetown contains only one hidden Sim, a duplicate of Nervous Subject. He is mostly close to the final playable counterpart but deceaced and has no character data.

Nervous Subject (User00016.package)#

Hidden

Final

  • Aspiration: Family
  • Zodiac Sign: Aquarius
  • Weight: Thin
  • Eye Color: Brown
  • Hair Color: Black
  • Skin Color: Light

The hidden version of Nervous Subject has a very different facial structure from his final playable version, but otherwise, is very close in appearance compared to the other hidden duplicate Sims. He appears in Olive Specter's and Loki and Circe Beaker's memories. And is actually seen in some pre-release media for the game. He shares the same personality with 10 personality points on active (and nothing else), like his final playable counterpart and was likely intended to be playable as he has the exact same set of memories as the final playable version (though some of them are in a different order than the final version of himself) and within his character file, he contains his final self's biography, word for word. Strangely, he also has a hidden portrait of him as an elder in his character file when viewed in SimPe.

Sims With Hidden Lifestage Thumbnails#

Very strangely, when using SimPe, there are various pre-made Sims and a couple NPCs that contain within their package files duplicate portrait thumbnails of themselves but in a different lifestate than their current one. Some of these thumbnails also includes unused content (and a couple earlier ideas on transparency and thumbnail sizes)!

Hidden Elder NPC Thumbnails#

The Big Boss (scrapped), Therapist and Hula Zombie NPCs strangely contain hidden thumbnails of them as elders, the reason why they exist is unknown.

Strangetown#

While Pleasantview doesn't appear to have any hidden thumbnails, Strangetown does! In Strangetown, there a various pre-made deceased Sims that have hidden thumbnails of them as an older life stage, most of these are some of the ghosts of Sims that are in the Specter lot.

Veronaville#

Like Strangetown, Veronaville has a lot of pre-made deceased Sims that contain hidden thumbnails of them in an older life stage, usually as an Elder instead of an Adult (with playable Sim Consort Capp being the only exception). A lot of the Elder outfits in the hidden thumbnails seem to wear similar basic/default elder outfits and interestingly, when looking at the family tree, most of the deceased parents of living Sims are almost always adults instead of Elders unlike most other hoods and it's most of these Sims that have these hidden thumbnails.
