neightborhood_roads_00004b040_lifo |

A more civilized road texture intended to appear in the neighborhood view. A similar texture, albeit on Lots can be seen in this December 2003 build image. |
European Roads#
Textures for roads with temperate grass and European-style crossings exist, though their intended purpose is unknown. The lack of a desert variant may suggest these were intended for Veronaville, or earlier incarnations of a European-themed neighbourhood that existed during development. Other than the design of the crossings, they are identical to the standard "temperate" road textures.
It's possible to change an existing neighborhood's roads to use these textures by hex editing its NGBH resource. Change byte 14 to 08 and change the name of the terrain type at byte 18 to European (45 75 72 6F 70 65 61 6E), adding or deleting bytes as required.
No Dirt or Concrete variations were ever made, though Seasons includes a snowy version of these textures which also go unused. Interestingly, these textures were used as the basis for the roads featured on the Round and Round Train Set included in FreeTime rather than the used temperate road textures.

Neighborhood View Graphics#
Stuff that never showed up on Neighborhoods. A handful of these textures are notably in 2D, whereas many neighborhood effects appear as 3D models in the final.

Sims3D/Objects08.package |
neighborhood_birdframes0_lifo |
Unused graphic of birds flying through the neighborhood, albeit low-res. A similar kind of effect would be introduced in University. |
|
Sims3D/Objects08.package |
neighborhood_birdframes0_lifo |
Same as above, except blue...birds. |
|
Sims3D/Objects08.package |
neighborhood-seamonster0_lifo |
Unused neighborhood graphic of a sea monster, resembling the infamous Nessie graphic from The Sims. A similar kind of unused model can also be found, implying it was supposed to appear. |
|
Sims3D/Objects08.package |
neighborhood-stream0_lifo |
![]() |
Unused neighborhood graphic of a river stream. |
Sims3D/Objects08.package |
neighborhood_walkingsim010_lifo |
Unused graphic of a pedestrian Sim intended to be shown walking on the sidewalks in Neighborhood View. It's similar to a graphic used in SimCity 4. |
|

Sims3D/Objects09.package |
plesiosaur-skin0_lifo |
Unused textures for a scrapped plesiosaur "nessie" neighborhood effect. The file naming scheme appears to be different, lacking "neighborhood" at the beginning, implying it was cut early. |
|
Sims3D/Objects09.package |
rainbow_full0_lifo |
Unused graphic for a full rainbow. |
|
Sims3D/Objects09.package |
neighborhood_dino_skeleton0_lifo |
Unused texture for a dinosaur skeleton that has been dug up. There is an unused model associated with it. |
