An early version of Mario Stadium sharing the same filename as the final version (stadium0.gpc), and located within the files of Bowser Castle. This version has just the field and lower stands modeled, and is missing the audience, stands seats, detailed textures on the grass and dirt, and the lighting on the field. The textures for the early version features the same ones present in Mario Stadium, with little to no changes to them.
test (Early Bowser Castle)#
An early version of Bowser Castle named test.gpc, with unfortunately little to not much left of it except for the outfield wall. This may have been a result of the stadium model not being finished, or the outfield wall chunk being the only part of the stadium model which the developers forgotten to have remove from the files.
General#
- The middle structure being destroyed to make room for the Bowser monument, which was left untouched in the final.
- The early versions brick texture is brighter and more saturated.
- The torch pillar stuctures and the dark-brown bolted structure along the area where the Thwomps would be aren't present in the early version.
- The Thwomp area is smaller in the early version.

Textures#
Though a partial chunk of the stadium is modeled, the textures for the rest of the stadium are fortunately still present with the stadium's files.

Notes |
|---|---|
Rocky mountains that sub-merge with the lava. Two versions of this texture exist, a large dark version and a smaller lighter version. |
The dirt chalk textures taken from Mario Stadium. |
The bases and home plate textures taken from Mario Stadium. |
The dirt dust texture from Mario Stadium. |
The giant Bowser monument located behind the outfield walls with shading matching an early texture for Bowser's early model. |
An octagonal shaped stone pattern, which could've been part of some background decoration of a stone trail. |
A beige crumbled stone texture meant for some of the background stone structures. |
A red carpet, likely as part of some background decorations. |
A green and yellow triangular pattern, likely meant to go with the red carpet texture for the sides. |
A set of textures for the outfield wall being the only part modeled in the early version. The brick textures are brighter and more saturated, whereas the final versions textures are darker and more realistic. |
Parts for a mechanical Bowser-shaped structure similar to Mecha Bowser from Super Mario Sunshine. |
Thwomp's face and spikes, sporting a lighter-blue design unlike the final's gray colored appearance. The early Thwomp's texture has two faces while the final uses three face textures. |
The texture for the shell-themed cannon, which appears in the final version with little to no changes to the texture. |
A flow of lava for the background. The final version of the stadium is instead a texture atlas and uses vertex colors to control the transparency for the edges of the lava flowing from the rocky mountains. |
Either a lava texture or a sky texture. A sky texture is likely as the rest of the sky textures for the other stadiums are small in size and consist of two colors for the sky's colors. |
A curved stone structure meant for the decoration around home plate. |
A purple tinted version of the green and yellow triangular pattern. The bottom part of the texture is colored red, matching the red carpet texture. |
A looping line of rocks meant for the outfield walls. |
A green metallic caution-colored texture meant for the outfield walls where the Thwomps would be. |
A chain texture used in the final version's stadium where it holds two drawbridges in the background. |
