This game contains two layers of anti-piracy checks to ensure it's being run off a legit game cartridge, all done via using the DS Protect anti-piracy library.
Layer One: DSProtect 2.05s#
The first layer (overlay 8) contains DSProtect 2.05 Instant, and checks on the cartridge to ensure if it's a legit copy upon startup. If any of the DS Protect checks fail, the game crashes when booted.

The second layer (overlay 9) contains DSProtect 2.05, which will also run on boot in the case the above layer has been bypassed. If this layer fails a DS Protect check, the game removes all buildings from the world map, preventing any further progress after the tutorial battle. Additionally, the game will intentionally corrupt save files.

Within the folder /root/sndinfo is a SADL text file containing 1,333 lines of #defines for all of the audio contained in the game's sound data file.

Other than the obvious logo change, "PUSH START BUTTON" became "PRESS START" and the copyright font was completely changed. Notably, the Koei Tecmo Games Ltd. copyright uses Japanese characters in the original release.
The Japanese name translated to English is Pokémon + Nobunaga's Ambition. The latter is a game series that is well-known in Japan, which is what the core of this game is based around, but not well-known elsewhere. As a result, the localization team changed the game's title to prevent confusion.
