Room Names

Hello there!

In the final game, each floor of the tower hub has its own unique title that represents what part of the hub you're in. However, a variable known as global.roommessage is called in almost every room, with some levels having unique titles for each room. Between the Western and Beach & Forest Patreon builds, every single room in each level had its own title to "give each room a bit more life" according to Thing of the Week 5 & 6. When the April 2021 Patreon build rolled around, these room titles were replaced with dialog from the TV (even though that ended up getting removed from the final game too). The room name for each separate room was given one more chance in September of that year, though the closest to this being in the final is the title of the game window changing for each level, not each room.

The object itself, obj_roomname, has a hidden message of itself that reads "HELLO!". Many titles for the levels reflect early versions of their respective rooms, as the titles haven't been edited since 2020. Not every level was given a unique name or message, so a lot of them ended up using the same repeated name as a placeholder. And speaking of placeholders, not a single treasure room has a proper room name, but the one and only level designer did include some interesting placeholder names.
