Unused Arsenal and Upgrades

This is a sub-page of Cyberpunk 2077.

To do:

  • Cover the Militech MT0D12 "Flathead".
  • Take a screenshot of Jackie's Machete inside the inventory (Just like Johnny's Revolver).

A collection of weapons, cyberware, and upgrades that were cut from Cyberpunk 2077 before release or remain unused in the game files.

Unused Gear#

Tabula e-Rasa#

The Tabula e-Rasa was a Progression Shard that allowed V to refund all of their used Perk Points. It did not allow V to reset Attribute Points. It could be purchased from any ripperdoc for 100,000 eurodollars. Once purchased, it does not appear in your inventory; the perk points are immediately reset upon purchase.

  • Patch 1.2 - Price reduced from €$ 100,000 to €$ 25,000.
  • Patch 1.3 - Removed from game, replaced by a perk reset button in the character menu.

Autoloader#

When installed in a ranged weapon, the Autoloader automatically loads a new bullet into your weapon after depleting the current magazine. Normally, an additional animation is shown when you swap magazines with no bullet in the chamber. This mod causes V to skip that part of the reloading animation, just as if they had reloaded partway through a magazine, which significantly reduces the amount of time to reload in these situations. Currently, it can only be obtained through console commands.

  • This has no effect on some weapons, such as the Ashura.

Inventory.

A piece of cyberware meant to grant the player invisibility for 5-15 seconds depending on the rarity. If re-enabled in-game, it shows up properly in the cyberware screen, though it appears to be a gamble on whether or not it will actually function. It's still mentioned by the Aldecaldos ripper doc and was eventually added with Patch 2.0 in all rarities.

Militech MT0D12 "Flathead"#

To do:
There is quite a bit of code left in Redmod to analyze. Find relevant code by searching for "flathead" or "spiderbot" in a code editor.

In the final game, the Flathead is only used for a few early main quests, and only controlled by the player during a limited, brief section. Earlier in development it was conceptualized as a companion of sorts to the "Techie" class, in the same way that a Netrunner primarily uses a cyberdeck. With the consolidation of the Techie class into Netrunner, the Flathead was eventually reduced to it's current state, but several remnants of the expanded Flathead remain in the game's files.

Redmod includes quite a bit of code related to the Spiderbot/Flathead, which reveals how the Flathead would have worked in the game. The Flathead would have required the player to have "CPU Power", which in the base_values.tweak file is described in a code comment as a "Resource used for spiderbot actions". There also would have been a feature named "Autocraft", which would be a way for the Flathead to automatically craft items, as described in the file autocraftSystem.script, in the debug comment "Flathead autocrafted item". Flathead_actions.tweak includes data that shows that using the Flathead would have increased the Engineering skill of the player.

The samples.tweak file contains data that imply the Flathead would built out of four modules, "BotMainModule", "BotChassisModule", "BotCPU", "BotSoftware", and the type.tweak file includes the strings "Fla_Rifle", "Fla_Launcher", "Fla_Shock" and "Fla_Support" which may be references to items that could be attached to the Flathead. A feature that likely would have been an upgrade for the Flathead is the ability to share targets to the player. The flags_values.tweak file contains an enumerative entry named "CanShareThreatsWithPlayer", with the comment "Ability flag for if Flathead can share threats with the player" where the "if" in that sentence implies that the feature would have to be added to the Flathead.

The following strings are found in the file onscreens.json:

Community File Entries#

There are several .community files left in the game files which are related to the Flathead, that gives some insight into the quests the Flathead could be used in.

I Fought the Law

The sq012_rqr_flathead.community file only contains some generic data for spawning the Flathead but the "rqr" in the filename most likely stands for Red Queen's Race. This reveals the Flathead would have been spawned inside the building.

Pisces

The sq026_plc_spiderbot.community file contains some "phases" which show that the Flathead would have spawned in the maintenance area and the roof. The latter entry likely refers to Hiromi's apartment.

Gigs

The Flathead could also be spawned in the gigs listed below. The community files for these gigs does not contain any references to where specifically in the level the Flathead could spawn.

  • Gig: An Inconvenient Killer
  • Gig: Bring Me the Head of Gustavo Orta
  • Gig: Concrete Cage Trap
  • Gig: Family Heirloom
  • Gig: Fifth Column
  • Gig: Fixer, Merc, Soldier, Spy
  • Gig: Hacking the Hacker
  • Gig: Hippocratic Oath
  • Gig: Monster Hunt
  • Gig: Old Friends
  • Gig: On a Tight Leash
  • Gig: The Frolics of Councilwoman Cole

Jackie's Machete#

A golden machete with an ivory handle and engraved with a Santa Muerte cross, custom made for Jackie Welles. The item does not function as a weapon, and can only be obtained through console commands, unlike his pistol, La Chingona Dorada.

  • When inspected, it's categorized as a type "Misc" item, with a Tier 3 base quality.
  • Its ID number is sq018_jackie_machete
  • The fact sq018 is in its ID number implies it was likely intended to be an offering for Jackie's ofrenda in the Side Job "Heroes".

Johnny's Revolver#

A normally unobtainable item named "Johnny's Revolver" can be found in the files. Normally, it is given to the player during the Interlude chapter while they are playing as Johnny Silverhand, and cannot be seen in the inventory under normal circumstances. If spawned in, it will use the stats and characteristics of the normal Malorian Arms 3516, but with a bugged inventory icon of a Krausser HA-7 Warden SMG. In older versions of the game, the icon is displayed correctly, though still not being the proper Malorian Arms 3516 icon.

  • Its item id is Items.Silverhand_Malorian

Brass Knuckles#

There are four unused variants of Brass Knuckles in the games files; Default, Golden, Pimp, and Military. With the exception of Military, they can be spawned in game with console commands and are fully usable, albeit with clipping issues when equipped. Their inventory icon is unfinished, showing just fists, and Default and Pimp are both just named "Knuckles". The Golden variant is shown with the name and stats of a unique assault rifle named Divided We Stand. Whether this name originally belonged to the knuckles, or it's simply a glitch, is unknown.
