Regional Differences

Resident Evil Survivor is the fourth and final installment for the original PlayStation. Taking place a month after the events of Resident Evil 2/Resident Evil 3 (November 1998), you play as a amnesiac man who wakes up from a horrific helicopter crash, and has to now deal the hordes of undead while trying to figure out who he is.

Notably, the game is played in first-person view, allowing for compatibility with the Namco Gun-Con to give the game a more "arcade" feel. Sadly, players in North America were unable to use the Gun-Con as the option to use it was removed due to the then-very recent Columbine massacre.

Survivor also received a PC port in 2002, albeit only in China and Taiwan.
