It's the fifteenth anniversary of a game where you line up blobs in chains of four, now with more rulesets and some characters from the Compile-era games returning.
Puyo Puyo Sniper#
Watch on YouTubeThere is a game mode in the "Special Price" version called "Puyo Puyo Sniper". It was unused in the original version release, but SEGA added it as an unlockable minigame in the budget re-release. Use this Action Replay code to unlock everything and beat the game. It is the third menu in options.

Unused and unique artwork for Ms. Accord during drills and lessons. She seemed to be able to swing her arm. The final game opts to use her cutscene sprites and animations instead.
title/TitleData.narc/TitleData_2 title/TitleData.narc/TitleData_0
Title screen of "Puyo Puyo ABC". This seems to be the original concept of this game.

Some character selection screens of Puyo Puyo ABC. In the textbox is the name of the character's ability.
inline/Inline.narc/Inline_03 Dongurigaeru's ability description, "Great Spinner", it has the same name as the 15th's mode Spinner, and the description shows that this ability was supposed to work the same way.
inline/Inline.narc/Inline_06 Raffina's ability description, "Treasure Hunt", which is supposed to work like 15th's Excavation, just that instead of a star, it says to dig for the treasure.
inline/Inline.narc/Inline_09 (This graphic has a broken tilemap. Its tiles were assembled manually)
Gogotte's ability description, "Time Bomb", unlike 15th's Bombs mode, it seems to have worked differently than the final mode. Here's its translation:
"Gogotte's Time Bomb"
"Lower the timer by the amount of your chain while clearing the bombs on the field with your Puyo. That will pass it to the next person! If you take too much time, it will explode on your field. Any chain higher than two can lower the timer on a held bomb!"

Other Leftovers#
Across the files, several .bat files that were used to build the .narc archives can be found. Some source code related files can also be found, such as strings or text files of repositories.
roulette/bg_puyo_icon.narc/bg_puyo_icon_53
This XML file seems to have information of a developer who uploaded some files to a repository, in this case some .bat files.
Revisional Differences#
The Rev 1 version fixes a bug present in the original revision, where the game would stop saving after 255 times. The "Special Price" version adds the aforementioned unused minigame.
