Pokémon Puzzle League, a localization of an unreleased N64 Panel de Pon game, continues the long tradition of replacing the series' original character designs with others from pre-existing franchises. Those poor fairies couldn't catch a break for the longest time.
Notable for being one of the few Nintendo 64 titles to use FMVs, as well being one of the few Pokémon games to not be released in Japan. It is also one of the few games based entirely on the 4Kids dub of the anime, utilizing the entire voice cast and soundtrack (though it uses Lorelei's game name instead of "Prima", which she went by in the English anime due to lip sync concerns).

Unused Graphics#
A sizable number of generic UI graphics.
A duplicate image of Lt. Surge, only found in the German version.
Developer Messages#
Audio#
Two clips of one of the developers proclaiming their love to two other people. They're located at 0x1D38180 in the US ROM.
The first features a non-native speaker of Japanese proclaiming his everlasting love to an Emi-chan. (エミちゃん、いつも愛してる。)
The second is a monotone "I love you, Liz."

Hidden Menu#
|
|
Please elaborate. |
There is a hidden menu called NAME-LIST which has eight hidden names in it:
- guest
- yukimi
- emo
- steve
- bill
- lamont
- rory
- yoon
This hidden menu doesn't have any textures, and the names are located at coordinates X:0 Y:0 without any inner/outer colors.
Based on the presence of the guest name and the fact there are eight names, it's most likely a development leftover for the name selection menu.
These names seem to refer to the following people from the game's credits:
- Yukimi Shimura (Creative Director/Producer)
- Emory Georges (Sound Programmer)
- Steve Petofalvi (Production Artist)
- Bill Giese (Game Designer, Puzzle Creator)
- Ronald Lamont Hall (Production Artist)
- Rory Johnston (Sound Programmer)
- Yoonjoon Lee (Programmer)
Regional Differences#
Hidden Development Message#
|
|
Please elaborate. |
In the French and German versions, there is a hidden message that can be revealed by removing a "hidden" flag on the text.
An example for the French version can be seen below. The German version is the same but replaces "French" with "German".
For the USA and European versions, only the 2nd line (timestamp creation) is present in the game's data, but there is no known way to display it.
Glitched Text Box#
In the German version, the dialog box for erasing all data has been poorly adapted. Underneath the German text, the shadow of the English text can be seen.
