Brio Virtual Drift Challenge

Brio virtual Drift Challenge was a demo of Asphalt Nitro that was released on September 9, 2020 & marks the 2nd contest spinoff since Asphalt Audi RS 3. This special version was a contest done in partnership with PT Honda Prospect Motor: Players had to race cars using either one of 2 variants of the Honda Brio: the RS & Satya E, and set the highest drift scores and records, with a prize pool of IDR 35.250 million (roughly the equivalent of $2,127.69 USD) at stake. Unlike Asphalt Nitro, this special edition was also released as an iOS exclusive alongside its own Android launch, making it the only version of Asphalt Nitro that was ever released on iOS devices.

The original Brio Virtual Drift Challenge contest ended on December 1, 2020. However, the game still remained active until it was finally delisted over 3 years later, on December 23, 2023, nearly 2 years after the final BVDC contest ended in January 2022. The prize money was awarded to an unidentified individual under the username "Mt75," who racked a grand total of 57,998 points. The runner-ups, anonymous people under the usernames "Toid Adiyanto" (32,540 points) & "EndlessRunner28" (32,484 points) were awarded a smaller prize of IDR 2.5 million (roughly $139.57 USD) alongside official Honda merchandise.

Differences#

As the game is a more barebones demo, there are several differences present.

• The only available game modes are Versus and Gate Drift.
• As stated above, only 2 cars are available, both of them performing the same:
  • Honda Brio RS
  • Honda Brio Satya E
• Only 20 races (equivalent to 100 stars) are playable & unlockable in the career mode.
• All tracks are the same as their Nitro counterparts but are renamed to not resemble a real-life country, city or region just like in the Chinese version of Asphalt 9. In quick race they have to be unlocked by obtaining stars in the career.
• Multiplayer and currencies are unavailable in this version. For stats, only top speed and nitro speed is shown without handling or acceleration. Customization is also extremely limited, only featuring paintjobs.
