Beta 1.1

version 1#

Minecraft: Java Edition Beta 1.1-1245 was released on December 22nd, 2010, which added support for special events on specific dates during the holiday period as well as other changes and fixes.

Additions & Changes#

  • 2010 holiday capes
    • Players who played during December 25th were shown with a Christmas-themed cape (server-side only).Minecraft-Christmas_2010_Cape.png
    • Players who played during December 31st were shown with a purple fireworks-themed cape celebrating New Year's 2011 (server-side only).Minecraft-New_Years_2011_Cape.png
  • Leaf decay has been rewrote.
  • Fixed frame rate drops in singleplayer.
  • Fixed players getting spammed with data then getting disconnected in multiplayer.
  • Fixed an item duplication bug in multiplayer.
  • Fixed "fancy" characters not working in the game by detaching font resources from the code.

Removals#

  • Font
    • The font.txt file was accidentally removed, removing every single instance of text seen in-game.

Beta 1.0.2

Beta 1.1

Version 2#

Beta 1.1-1255 released on December 22, 2010, Was reuploaded 10 minutes after release as the original minecraft.jar did not include the font.txt file, making all text invisible in-game. However, this fix did not work because font.txt was still missing. Notch released a third update a few minutes after that, Beta 1.1_01, which fixed the issue.

Beta 1.1_01, released on December 22, 2010, fixed the font file being missing from Beta 1.1

Beta 1.1_02, released on December 22, 2010, was another minor bug fix update
