Please elaborate. |
Alpha 1.1 is the second and middle part of Minecraft's Alpha stage of development. It went from September 10th, 2010, to September 23rd, 2010, and is is considerably much shorter and smaller than Alpha 1.0 or Alpha 1.2, but it still has a fair amount of interesting and important changes and additions to the game during its development.
Alpha 1.1.0#
Released on September 10th, 2010, Alpha 1.1.0, also known as the Seecret Friday 9 update, was the last Seecret Friday Update and it include some minor but important changes.
Additions#
- The compass was added to the game and is crafted with Iron Ingots and Redstone Dust, and works by pointing to world spawn when held, just like in modern versions.
- Server side inventory was added, meaning any inventory data is now saved directly on servers.
- The locations of a player on servers is now always saved immediately when that player disconnects.
- Buckets of Lava can now be used to smelt items in Furnaces and are very efficient in doing so as they have a 100 smelts, the most out of any item added to the game so far.
Changes#
- Clay is now slightly more common in world generation, making it easier to find.
- Torches can no longer be placed on leaves, but only with fancy graphics.
- Chests, Signs and Furnaces now work in multiplayer.
- Monster Spawners no longer have a rotating model of the mob inside due to issues in multiplayer, this won't be fixed until Beta.
Reupload#
Alpha v1.1.0 was reuploaded on September 13, 2010, to fix a bug where the player could force the camera's movement inside walls. The version found in the launcher is the pre-reupload version, but is recompiled differently and has a different checksum.
Alpha 1.1.1#
Released on September 18th, 2010, Alpha 1.1.1 is the one and only Seecret Saturday update (and the last Seecret update in general). This version is also rather infamous, due to being nearly being completely lost for just over 10 years and having a violent gray screen bug on certain systems that affected the user's entire screen.
Additions and Changes#
- The ability for the player to crouch using the Shift key was added.
- Fishing Rods were added to the game, though right now they serve no purpose.
- Five new paintings by Kristoffer Zetterstrand have been added to the game. They are:
- Graham
- Creebet
- Donkey Kong
- Skeleton
- Pigscene
- The Sea and Stage paitings have also seen minor texture changes.
- Sliders for Mouse Sensitivity, Music and Sound have been added to the main options menu.
Alpha 1.1.2#
Also released on September 18th, 2010 (just a few hours after Alpha 1.1.1 in fact), this update was quickly released to fix the gray-screen bug seen in Alpha 1.1.1, by removing some gamma related debug code.
Alpha 1.1.2_01#
Released on September 23rd, 2010, this was a fairly simple update to change how Minecraft downloaded game assets at the time, connecting to a Amazon S3 cloud storage service, instead of directly from minecraft.net like how ever other version before this did. This is the last version of Alpha 1.1 and is also the last before the terrain generation was radically changed and biomes were added in Alpha 1.2.0, also changing the green tint on grass and leaves to be less saturated. This is also the last Alpha version to have Winter mode and monoliths.
