In the Japanese and Korean versions, song lyrics could be filled with premade words, food, items, Miis, or the player can make one of their own. The North American and European versions let the player fill the song lyrics on their own:
In the Japanese version, the background for the metal performances shows a gray demon's face with a swarm of bats below it. Due it's possible frightening nature or ties to religious references, the Western and Korean versions replace this with a pair of flaming guitars.

In the Japanese and Korean version, if a Mii mentions the name of a food, treasure, or another Mii in the lyrics, the item or face of Mii mentioned will briefly appear in the background. This does not occur in Western versions.
