Taiko no Tatsujin: Go! Go! Godaime introduced the Go-Go Time mechanic, which highlights certain parts of a song (e.g. chorus sections) and provides bonus points when hitting notes in them. It also introduced Yam notes, a more complex version of Balloons which reward the player the faster their quota is cleared. Both of these would be implemented in arcades in Taiko no Tatsujin 7, and would become mainstay features of the series.

Unused Chart Data#
Taiko no Tatsujin Godaime stores 368 charts in its data, associated with the game's 45 songs, as well as the tutorial. Within them, a few have unused elements, and one of them is completely unused:

- anp1p_h (1P Hard/Muzukashii)
- anp1p_n (1P Normal/Futsuu)
- anp2p_d (2P Relay)

- Ai wo torimodose!!
- hoku1p_m (1P Extreme/Oni)
- hoku2p_m (2P Extreme/Oni)
-
- These charts contain unseen branch areas that match data found in its previous appearance in Taiko no Tatsujin 4.
Unused Branch Areas#
The following songs' Extreme/Oni charts have populated Advanced and Master Branch areas before the first branch split, and the notes in these areas differ from what is seen in some way:
Cutie Honey#
The 1P Extreme/Oni chart, which is stored in the file cutie1p_m, has an almost identical copy of the Normal Branch area in the Advanced and Master Branches, save for one small difference: the final Small Ka note at measure 2 has the lyric "カッ" rather than "カ".
Omatsuri ninja#
Both Extreme/Oni charts, stored in the files ninja1p_m and ninja2p_m, have unseen differences in measures 13, 15, and 16, as follows:
- The drumroll note at measure 13 has a length of 2.275 in the Normal Branch and in the unseen Advanced Branch area, but has a shorter length of 1.357 in the Master Branch.
- The third Small Don (ドン) note at measures 15 and 16, which is placed at beat 1, is a Small Ka (カッ) in the unseen data. There are also additional Small Don (ドン) and Small Ka (カッ) notes placed at beats 3 and 3.5, respectively.

- At measures 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, and 16, there is an additional Small Don (ド) note at beat 2.25. The Small Ka immediately following it also has a different lyric, being "カッ" rather than "カ". In addition to this, the final two Small Don notes at this last measure have the lyric "ドン" rather than "ド".

DADDY MULK#
Both Extreme/Oni charts, stored in the files taito1p_m and taito2p_m, have a slight difference at measure 3, just before the first branch transition: the very last note, which is a Small Ka (カッ), is a Small Don (ドン) in the unseen data. From Taiko no Tatsujin 8, however, the transition was moved a measure earlier, so this variation now became seen.

Unused Graphic#
These textures for the removed Donderful! difficulty, which are leftovers from Taiko no Tatsujin: Atsumare! Matsuri da!! Yondaime, appear to be the only unused graphics in this game. The first instance of the package containing these graphics can be found at offset 0x17a63000.
