Dragon Ball Z: Sagas (GameCube)

Dragon Ball Z: Sagas is a linear beat-'em-up that was announced to have "fully destroyable environments" and "a wide variety of missions". While most believed it to be an open-world game (likely due to its marketing), it ended up being anything but that, and a true open-world DBZ game wouldn't be released until 14 years later.

The above aside, Sagas is notable for having its own qualities that set it apart from other DBZ games of its time, such as a boss fight in the normally-skipped Yardrat section, and fully incorporating the TV special The History of Trunks as two levels.

This was Avalanche Software's last game as an independent developer before they were bought out.

Unused Team Upgrades#

Rapid Fire#

DBZSagas-RapidFireUpgrade.mp4

This upgrade can be seen used by a player in an old trailer.

Spread Fire Ki Blasts#

DBZSagas-SpreadFireKiBlastsUpgrade.mp4

Both of these upgrades are used by bosses, but their presence in the item debug menu may suggest they were once available for players as well.

Fly#

Does nothing. Its redundant anyway since every character can fly by default.

Homing#

Buying this upgrade makes Ki Blasts and special moves seek enemies automatically, it's a little broken if the Ki Blasts are combined with Spread Fire Ki Blasts (see above), though, as some will just run into each other and explode.
