Hoonigan (Ford Escort Mk II Ken Block Special)#

This livery was supposed to be the Hoonigan pre-order (appears in Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X JUN and Holbrook Growler cars), intended for Ford Escort Mk II Ken Block Special vehicle, however this livery is a placeholder with a "HOONIGAN PRE-ORDER PLACEHOLDER" text written on a Blue Team livery. It could be possible that it was intended to appear in the aforementioned car before being moved to the Mitsubishi in the final game. The thumbnail associated with this livery exists, however it is simply re-render of the Gymkhana Grid 1 livery.

These tracks below only exist in the Steam Mac/Linux ports.

level_design\speedway#

This map features a speedway track with several gameplay testing areas. This track can be seen in developer videos.

uk\battersea_design#

It's an early design test map for Battersea, presumably taken from DiRT 3 development. It seems though, that its assets have been updated to use the newer versions in this game, as this track works in the game no problem but it doesn't work in DiRT 3. There are Gate Crasher objects from DiRT 2 as placeholders for future smash blocks.

Unused Modes#

Lap Attack#

Lap Attack was a mode where the players, alone can compete the friends' times by completing the lap at the fastest time possible and completing challenge. This mode belongs to Race type.

Trick Shot#

Codenamed "Simon Says", would have been a mode included in Party playlist. The gameplay would have been consisted of 5 rounds, which players had to complete the tricks and earn higher score possible than rivals. The tricks would have been Donut, Drift, Head-On, Jump, Marker, Reverse, Roll, Slam, Spin, and T-Bone.

The mode itself however is quite broken.

Unused Strings#

Lap Attack#

Compete solo to register record times over a series of laps and defeat target times. Why not challenge a friend to compete against your personal best?

Multiplayer#

The Jam Session string means that the custom match online mode, appeared in earlier title titles was planned to appear in this game (or this could be auto-renamed string).
